Campus section edit
[edit]I removed a non-neutral statement referring to the district's use of funds to improve facilities in place of increasing spending on other areas. A quick glance at the Bond Measure page on the district website, http://www.fuhsd.org, reveals that Bond Measure funds can only be spent on facilities improvements. Therefore, requesting further parcel tax money to fund the overall school budget is not out of line. In addition, the comment was irrelevant to the design of the campus. 128.54.224.185 (talk) 08:16, 18 January 2011 (UTC)
Notable alumni
[edit]I've deleted several names in this category in cases where the individuals appear to be unknown; i.e., it isn't possible to locate the individual elsewhere in Wikipedia or on Google. An anonymous poster re-entered the name "Daniel Carrera" without any citation; for now, I've left it, but will remove in one week if no reference appears. 68.122.192.75 16:27, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
Recent edits and comment re: Extracurriculars
[edit]Recent edits to this article have involved adding citations to support factual statements, deleting unsupported claims and non-neutral statements, and adding sections on Homestead High School history. In the "extracurricular" section, an anonymous poster added a section on the cross-country team that requires references. That piece included a sentence about the coach having done "a remarkable job." I deleted that phrase because it was out of line with Wikipedia standards on neutrality of opinion. On the other hand, I left intact a sentence at the start of this section that states the school offers an "outstanding" extracurricular program, simply because given the school's lower ranking in the district than Lynbrook and Monta Vista high schools, the performance of some of its clubs and teams in national competitions is far above what one might expect. 68.122.192.75 16:45, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
Removed blacklisted hyperlink
[edit]In order to make the page editable again, I removed a blacklisted hyperlink (easyphpbb) 69.228.240.57 14:25, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
Campus Design
[edit]Is there actually any proof that Homestead was designed by prison designers? I can't find any proof via Google to support this claim.71.131.185.166 04:49, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
I went to Homestead in the late 90's (1996-2000) and this was a common rumor among students. If you actually go into the classrooms you will notice they are all cement cinder blocks and each room only has one tiny window. It is easy to understand why this claim exists when you view the campus first hand. I am curious who the actual architect was. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.25.130.21 (talk) 05:11, 25 July 2018 (UTC)
WikiProject class rating
[edit]This article was automatically assessed because at least one WikiProject had rated the article as start, and the rating on other projects was brought up to start class. BetacommandBot 14:04, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
Bartlett
[edit]Why is Brett Bartlett the pedo not mentioned at all? It's sadly part of HHS history. Electricbassguy (talk) 06:17, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
If you include him, you'd have to include coach lamson and robb arlon hunt 06:17, 10 March 2011 (UTC)
Recent edits and comment re: Extracurriculars
[edit]Recent edits to this article have involved adding current updates and citations to support factual statements, and new URL addresses for the school and music department. The Tuba section now maintains a facebook page instead of its own website so that has been deleted. Bevyofapls (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 22:07, 24 November 2009 (UTC).
Recent edits and comment re: Extracurriculars
[edit]For Music Department and Marching Band, editing copy to try and fit prose style guidelines as suggested. Also, removing Winter guard information since it has become a separate section at the top of Extracurricular section. Adding a link to that section for guard, as well as a citation to support overall success of other groups within the music program. Bevyofapls (talk) 17:15, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
Recent edits and comment re: Extracurriculars
[edit]Adding Winter Percussion section, since the group has been active for 4 consecutive years, steadily growing in success. Bevyofapls (talk) 16:28, 12 April 2010 (UTC)
Inappropriate comment about taxes
[edit]The last sentence in the first paragraph, about "confiscatory taxes," seems out of place and in violation of neutrality guidelines. (For what it's worth, I don't even live in CA and don't care about tax debates; I taught at Homestead briefly 1968-69.)--DSC46 (talk) 13:48, 16 June 2010 (UTC)
No balanced content
[edit]This article seems to be completely positive on HHS, completely ignoring some of its failed initiatives and programs. It's been in the news in the past for its attempt and complete failure with the "house" program in the early-mid 90s, some of its teachers have been accused of sexual harassment, and none of this makes it into the article. This should be a balanced view of HHS, not a fanpage.
John McCollum
[edit]Could someone add the birth and death dates for John McCollum, as well as the year he retired, preferably with an appropriate citation? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.41.104.60 (talk) 01:40, 29 August 2011 (UTC)

The "Halcyon Days of Our Youth" - Add
[edit]Mr. Pelton, revered AP English teacher, said "The halcyon days of our youth" so well, it's part of the lore, and all who took it remember. It should be quoted as a mini motto, please. Jct888 (talk) 03:30, 12 August 2017 (UTC)
