Merseybeat

[edit]

Is it worth mentioning that this show is similar to MerseyBeat? (Unsigned -84.66.254.131 8/5/2007)

I don't know what MerseyBeat is as Ive never seen it, but this is your opinion and is not important for the article. Thanks anyway.Alec1990 20:18, 24 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I do (remember it), and I should think it may be worth mentioning... DBD 00:14, 25 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wrong title

[edit]

I'm not quite sure why the article title has been CamelCased. All references by the BBC [1] and Radio Times [2] clearly show the title is "Holby Blue"; two entirely separate words. Unless anyone can show me a reason why this error shouldn't be corrected I'll move it and the related 'list of' in the next day or so. --AlisonW (talk) 23:41, 24 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's not an error at all, it's how the show was originally styled. Although press packs related to the show's launch are no longer available on the BBC website, the show's official homepage still contains references to it styled as such [3] and many media outlets continue to refer to it by that name [4] [5]. Zoe Lucker

[edit]

Hi

Does anyone know whether Zoe Lucker will reprise her role as Kate Keenan in series 3? As Kate left John in the last episode of series 2, it is unlikely that she will make another appearence. George.millman (talk) 22:44, 5 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

John Snr.

[edit]

Shouldn't Kenneth Colley as John Snr. be added to the list of past characters? He is at least as important in the series as Mandy French. George.millman (talk) 20:56, 14 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Axed

[edit]

I've updated it to say that the show has been axed by the BBC with refrencing from [6]. steveking89 20:40, 6 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Change of statement

[edit]

Hi

A few months ago you had this statement on this article:

It was confirmed on the 5th April 2008 that a 3rd and 4th series of the show will be produced. It is yet unknown whether the show will continue after that.

If this was the case then WHY THE HELL HAS IT BEEN SCRAPPED! George.millman (talk) 17:50, 11 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Because it was not referenced, I imagine. Police,Mad,Jack (talk · contribs) 17:53, 11 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Merge

[edit]

Following Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:Frickative/Holby Blue, a draft was merged in as the current version. Feel free to edit as needed now. — xaosflux Talk 05:57, 13 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I have made sure everything from the previous article is still in the current article, with the exception of the following unsourced information:
"Actors spent some time shadowing uniform and detective officers at Surrey Police's Woking station, and following an in depth visit to the station's custody centre, it is rumoured that the Holby police station cell block is based on the real thing at Woking."
and "[Filming took place] at an old MOD site near Longcross. It is also based at Brunel University, West London, where the external shots of the police station were filmed. Scenes were also filmed in Egham, Surrey. Shooting was also in Woking, Surrey, during the winter in the town centre."

Lead

[edit]

I've just seen that this has been nominated for GA and the main contributor is away, so this is poor timing on my part. But I think the lead needs some more work, as there's nothing about the setting, plot, or cast and characters. Readers know how the show was conceived and that it received a mixed reception from critics, but they have no idea what or who it's about. - JuneGloom07 Talk 18:57, 16 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, JuneGloom07. When I wrote the lead before nominating this article, I tried to keep the lead as short as possible. If I was to add setting, plot, and cast and characters into the article, would it make the article's lead too long, or not? ElectrodeandtheAnode (talk) 12:24, 2 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@ElectrodeandtheAnode and JuneGloom07: I just remembered HolbyBlue is a good article nominee and found this question from JuneGloom07. I thought I'd add my opinion on it. I think JuneGloom07 has made a good point - the lead should include something on plot, setting and cast and characters. Four paragraphs is the recommened size for a lengthy article so you could add this information to the first paragraph to avoid making the lead too big, while still adding extra information. Hope this helps, Soaper1234 - talk 20:09, 11 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Lead

[edit]
  • "HolbyBlue (also known as Holby Blue) is a British police procedural drama series, which aired from 2007 to 2008 on BBC One – on Tuesday nights in 2007 and Thursday nights in 2008." - The latter part of this sentence should be removed from the lead.  Done ElectrodeandtheAnode (talk) 10:24, 28 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@MWright96: quick question (just want to make sure I get rid of the right bit first time), is it everything in bold you would like removed? ElectrodeandtheAnode (talk) 20:02, 27 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@ElectrodeandtheAnode: Yes, should have made that point more clearer. MWright96 (talk) 10:21, 28 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
