History section
[edit]Hi, I have created the article "Genoese in Gibraltar" and its Italian version. I appreciate your former interventions. But I believe the "History section" cannot stop at the beginning of the XX century. We should write about the tentative of fascist Italy to create a fascist movement between the genoese (and Italian) community of Gibraltar in the 1930s. I believe we have to "bypass" this and go to the post WWII times. There are books about, but I believe this will go to a political area not welcomed in wikipedia. Anyway, as you can see in the reference, I have added an excerpt from the main Italian newspaper about the actual tendency of the genoese descendants to support the autonomy of Gibraltar. It is the same process that has happened in Malta and Corsica: all the fascist organizations have transformed their pro-Italian political agenda toward actual autonomy or independence ideals and "fights". Finally I have named ONLY the 3 most renowned, leaving your section of ALL notable persons to complete the argument. Regards. :)--3leopard (talk) 01:41, 22 December 2009 (UTC)
- Hi 3leopard, have you got a source about Genoese in Gibraltar in the 16th century. Thank you --Ecemaml (talk) 00:31, 29 December 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, I have added reference. Hope you understand Italian (anyway, it is very similar to Spanish). Specifically: Sancho de Sopranis, Los Genoveses en Cadiz antes de 1600, cuaderno n° 4 de la Sociedad de Estudios Historicos de Jerez de la Frontera, allegato n° 2, Larache 1939.
