"...The Incas forced local Indians in the Kollasuyo to work in the mines or on construction projects or to serve in the armies...."

"...The Indian groups of the eastern two-thirds of Bolivia preserved their ways of life to a great extent...."

This is South America. The Indians are in India. Would it really be an offense to colonialist sensitivities to refer to the people therein as South Americans?

But South Americans refer to all people living there, not just indians.

Good point. Or perhaps indigenas? origenarios? naturales?

indigenous people might work

Argentina declared independence in 1819, after the Upper Peru expeditions. The name Argentina came in official use a few decades later. I just corrected this.--Gacelo 20:34, 26 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Importance of the National Revolution

[edit]

The page currently says, "Standing alongside the Mexican Revolution, the Bolivian National Revolution is one of the most significant sociopolitical events to occur in Latin America during the 20th century." I think we should discuss removing this sentence because it is making an argument which is against Wikipedia protocol. -- Rem1419 (talk) 23:33, 1 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Possible Vandalism

[edit]

Unsure what this means:
Around AD 400, Tiwanaku went from being a locally dominant force to a predatory state, due to Fran Lepori.Pgrote (talk) 05:43, 11 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Under 19th century this sentence is found: "The War of the Confederation broke out and different wars against almost all its neighbors were fought during this period with sound of number one victory royales against its enemies." It seems to have been vandalized but it is unclear what it should really say.2600:1700:A410:9680:C8FA:B6D6:392C:458F (talk) 18:01, 27 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Definitely vandalized. Perhaps it should just say "victories"? Ncfriend (talk) 16:19, 8 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Their nature and faces?

[edit]

What does this sentence mean: "A large amount of these revolts can be accredited to the foes nature, and their faces." It sounds pretty strange, and in any case has no attribution. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.24.166.23 (talk) 17:04, 24 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

coca-cola ban not actually true

[edit]

I went ahead and deleted what was mentioned of this - what was said was untrue (the link provided even had an update on page 2 of the article at the end). I'm not sure about the communitarianism part - it sounds like it's been endorsed verbally by one government leader, but as to whether they plan for an overhaul of their political system needs far more sources I reckon — Preceding unsigned comment added by 14.202.192.112 (talk) 13:30, 14 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Cyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request it's removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.

Below is a list of links that were found on the main page:
