Himachal map
[edit]I have added a rather crude looking map but this is all I had... Couldnt pick anything from any site due to all the restrictions that Wikipedia imposes. Can somebody put a better map please. ramit 18:59, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
External links
[edit]In keeping with Wikipedia policy, I have removed commercial links. ramit 18:59, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
References
[edit]The two books mentioned in the references section are not really referring to anything. So I am moving them to the talk page for a discussion on where they should be put, if anywhere at all. ramit 18:59, 13 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit]I am putting external links here which seem to contain useful info about Himachal and may provide good source of information. Other editors are welcome to have a look at these. We can put these on the mainpage if they actually do contain good verifiable info. Lost 06:06, 25 May 2006 (UTC)

Culture
[edit]The entire section on culture appears to have been copied verbatim from the webpage: [[1]]. I believe, this needs to be looked into. RMehra 08:18, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
- Thats right... Lot of formatting/ rewording to be done. I am actually doing some more digging on the Culture of Himachal Pradesh article. You may like to refer to that one... Lost 08:27, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
- Sure. I will look into it. I am looking into the geography section these days. RMehra 11:28, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit]Just added some more meat to the Transport and Demographics sections. RMehra 06:55, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
Added a photo to transport section

How to change reference in Google Earth?
[edit]I have noticed that referecens to many places in the Google Earth (sorry! i don't know the exact terminology) are at wrong location (e.g. Himachal Pradesh is being shown insdie Haryana and Haryana is being shown inside Chandigarh). Although I have coorected coordinates of Himachal Pradesh in Wikipedia, the reference is still shown inside Haryana. If anyone can please tell me the exact proceudre for the same.

The article states that evidence has been found for man living in Himachal Pradesh 2 million years ago. However, man only left Africa approximately 150,000 years ago. This information needs to be deleted or remedied. Honshuzen 15:35, 14 September 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:HimichalPradeshSeal.jpg
[edit]Image:HimichalPradeshSeal.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Image
[edit]The placement of the image of Kalpa is quite odd. I would really like to see the image shifted. It would be nice to see the article start from the extreme left of the article insted of having an image there. WHy don't tou shift the image somehwere else? - thanks a lot for your comments Gaurav. is there anything else i can do. Sushant gupta (talk) 08:44, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
- This is a minor one, but people do oppose on this. The article should not be very wordy. For example, The history of Himachal Pradesh should be "Himachal Pradesh's history". Similar things can be rectified in the reast of the article. I am again going on a leave. I will surely review the article when i return. Indianescence (talk) 05:32, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
- i have addressed it. thank you for participating in Indian workgroup. Sushant gupta (talk) 06:39, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

Language
[edit]I feel that the description of the languages has to be gone into in a bit more depth. For instance, the staggering differences between the dialects of Pahardi spoken in the different districts. Mandiyali doesn't resemble Kullu Bhasha at all. AaronCarson (talk) 17:18, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

Fruit Bowl of India
[edit]Himachal Pradesh is a Fruit Bowl of India[1]. The State is also known as Apple State of India. Last year, Himachal Pradesh produced approx 6 lakh tonnes of apples, the highest in the country. India produces cultivates apples less than China, a neighbouring South East Asian country. There is no evidence that Himachal is a flower pot of the country.
