This image may, sadly, be doomed. I downloaded it years ago from a south Indian museum page. I can't for the life of me find it now, and have no idea where to proceed for aquiring the appropriate license. I'd hoped that seeing as it's a fairly simple photograph of a statue on a plain background, it may pass muster, but after reading the terms and policies regarding such pictures, it seems a slim hope.AaronCarson (talk) 19:00, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

Bhuma Devi and Prithvi

Both are Hindu Earth goddesses, both the articles have overlapping info about the goddesses for e.g. Both articles claim that Bhuma and Prithvi are wives of Vishnu. So is Bhuma same as Prithvi, if you have the info about the goddesses, plz add it. Nice work done on iconography of Prithvi. In a ref, please add name of publisher, year of publ. and ISBN of book quoting with page nos.--Redtigerxyz (talk) 12:02, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

Although both are Hindu earth Goddesses, I can't see that this is sufficient reason to merge them together. There are many deities in the Hindu religion who preside over the same functions but are not necessarily considered the same God. Subhramanya and Mangal are both gods of war, but they are not considered to be the same.

Aditi is also an earth mother, as well as Bhuvaneshwari, and Sita. Prithvi is the consort of Dyaus Pitar, not Vishnu. The iconographic information I provided was for Bhumidevi, not Prithivi. Prithivi has no iconography as she is a Vedic deity, and in Vedic times images were not used for worship. However if I do a section on the iconography of Prithivi, it will be quite different, but I will have to site sources and this means more time and research. • Add links to other wiki-articles. e.g. Rudra in Rudrani
• Add appropriate categories e.g. [[Category:Hindu goddesses]] in Rudrani

Matangi

Matanga has been mentioned as a sage. "Rishis" are u8sually Brahmins. This being the case, I dont think the entry should be present in a list of "ethnic Dalits" unless proper citations are provided. -Ravichandar 02:19, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

Ceridwen

Hey, Aaron, sorry I could not get back to you, but I've been travelling. It looks like Ceridwen is already in Category:Welsh goddesses. I don't think that that's an appropriate title for the category, as nearly all figures from Welsh mythology are not portrayed as gods in surviving texts even when that's obviously their origin. I'd prefer a category like Category:Characters of Welsh mythology or something like that. suit of swords

still figuring out how to msg another user here, so sorry if im intruding. hoping to find out where you got the info re: the suit of swords. havent seen those archetypes attatched to the cards before.(ie the knight of swords as the berserker)

are there more for the other suits also, or even the major arcana? strange question i know.

Aaron, Any chance you can do this for the suits of Wands and Coins? I don't have the know-how, but I've been researching for a story and the suits of Swords and Cups have been wonderful to have. Even just a citation would be nice, then someone else can get the other suits up. --Megspayne (talk) 17:10, 1 August 2010 (UTC)
