Brightly coloured socks
[edit]The article Highfields, Derbyshire, which may have been deleted by now, provides the following comments about this school. If verified, the comments may be relevant to this article.
- "One of the few schools, and possibly the only, to give 1 hour after school detentions for being 1 minute late to a lesson and to have a ban on brightly coloured socks." --TruthbringerToronto (Talk | contribs) 21:58, 6 September 2006 (UTC)
- I am a student their and that is completely true but the detentions are only 30 minutes Highfields (talk) (contribs) 18:43, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
- Crikey Highfields don't they teach English at your school? 217.43.223.211 (talk) 08:38, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

Lists
[edit]The article is a bit like a local web site. Would you expect to find this information in a paper encyclopedia? Can you delete some of the lists? .... something about history and notable students would be good. Its only advice, but wiki articles are never meant to be more than about 40% list and this one is 90% or so Victuallers (talk) 17:20, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
- The lists do not need to be deleted; some of our articles are 100% list. But it is recommended to turn lists into sourced paragraphs that discuss and illuminate rather than merely enumerate. But that is hard work and Wikipedia is an encyclopedia in progress - we are never a finished product; so bit by bit it would be best if the article were improved by sourcing (such as to a handbook given out to the students?) and by fuller explanations rather than mere bullet-points. Articles that are 100% list are called lists. This should be an article. The school has run for 25 years. Surely there must be a history even if there are no alumni? Victuallers (talk) 21:52, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
Referances
[edit]Most of the true information is impossible to referance because of the naf website. The only way would be to use letters to parents etc. but without online copies, Its so frustrating!!!!!!!!! Highfields (talk) (contribs) 17:12, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
- You cannot simply use the school's own website even if the info was there. The lack of info clearly shows the lack of notability. This is a bog standard comp for which there is little or no information beyond parental letters. Also this article is a total shambles with POV all over the place. A total re-write is needed if we must have articles about every ordinary school in the country.
- By the way, shall we suggest that, considering the keep decision, that WP is renamed WikiYellowPages?

(By the way, should you be editing an encyclopedia if you can't spell references?)

- If you do not have an account, you can create one by clicking the Login/Create account link at the top right corner of the page and following the instructions there. Once your account is created and you meet four day/ten edit requirements you will be able to edit this article.
- You can request unprotection of this article by asking the administrator who protected it. Instructions on how to do this are at WP:UNPROTECT. An article will only be unprotected if you provide a valid rationale that addresses the original reason for protection.
- You can provide a specific request to edit the article in "change X to Y" format on this talk page and an editor who is not blocked from editing the article will determine if the requested edit is appropriate. —KuyaBriBriTalk 22:53, 25 January 2018 (UTC)
