Incorrect Info
[edit]It says in the article that HSM3 was the last. But I saw an advertisement on the internet(several, actually) that they were currently casting the fourth.
Suggested revamp
[edit]I think the information of this article is not enough for this page to be notable. It seems like it's just a whole bunch of HSM articles shoved into one. However, I do think that this franchise is notable enough to support a film series page, but I think it needs a revamp. Rather than summarizing the film's plots (which is already done on the film's respective pages), I believe that we should include information about the production of the films such as casting, etc. To get an idea of what I'm talking about, I found some film series pages that I think are well done.
I had to write a paper on this franchise and I believe there are enough credible sources and information about those aspects of the films. There is a lot of information on casting for the first film, salary disputes for the second and third, possible recasting for Vanessa's role, and abandoned plots (the Haunted aspect of the third film). There is also plenty of information on the fourth film's development, including the actors who aren't returning, the actors who were going to but were dropped by Disney, plot development, etc. I will wait on editing the page until I get feedback. Jemma Mackenzie-Brown
[edit]It has been stated that she will not be in High School Musical 4, so the info that she will be is false. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.140.7.10 (talk) 22:37, 30 December 2009 (UTC)
- Do you have a source? BOVINEBOY2008 :) 22:44, 30 December 2009 (UTC)
- There are two sources in the Jemma McKenzie-Brown article that say she's not doing it. Neither of them looks very, erm, source-ish, however. I googled it and found several other fan sites that say that she's not doing it, but nothing that looks very official. I vote to just edit to say that she won't be in High School Musical 4 unless someone can find a source that says she is.Jaya Cloudbird (talk) 15:32, 31 December 2009 (UTC)
- No, if we can't fin a yay or nay, then we should just leave the info out. BOVINEBOY2008 :) 15:38, 31 December 2009 (UTC)
- I'd agree if we actually couldn't find anything, but the fact is that there exist dozens of sources all saying that she's not doing the film. I did find this, and it's from a news source rather than a fan site, but not Disney official. I think it makes sense to include the information using this source, but I'm new. Your thoughts?--Jaya summons|contribs 15:42, 31 December 2009 (UTC)
- The source looks pretty dubious. The interview questions are not included, which is very detrimental and turns into misinterpretation. Also the interviewer's name isn't indicated. We have no way of knowing this is completely fabricated. BOVINEBOY2008 :) 15:47, 31 December 2009 (UTC)

List of Characters for HSM4
[edit]Fans keep coming in and changing who will be the characters in HSM4. Until we know who will be in the film, we should keep the HSM4 character column pretty much empty. The only two people that we absolutely know are going to be in there (as of April 24, 2010) are Bart Johnson and Alyson Reed, so they can stay. It is only speculation on whether or not Ashley Tidale or Lucas Grabeel or any of the other former stars are going to make an appearance. So, fo now, until we get sourced conformation of other characters, leave the charcter chart as it is. --Wingdude88 18:12, 24 April 2010 (UTC)
Apparently I should have been more clear. Unless the characters are confirmed, don't add on the character chart any unconfirmed cast members IN ANY FUTURE MOVIE IN THE HSM-RELATED FRANCHISE! As of today, Lucas Grabeel has not been confirmed in the spinoff, only rumored. Therefore, I am taking him off of the chart. --Wingdude88 22:49, 13 May 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Wingdude88 (talk • contribs)

- We'll see about that, Mr. Complainer. Idk if it is either, but we'll just wait and see...--The Wing Dude, Musical Extraordinaire (talk) 05:42, 3 September 2010 (UTC)
Saturday Night Live skit as part of the franchise
[edit]It might warrant a mention as a pop culture reference or callout to the show but a comedy parody on an unrelated television series has nothing to do with and is definitely not part of this franchise. Geraldo Perez (talk) 18:46, 6 December 2016 (UTC)
- Further, cast listings go in order they appear in the credits in the movie. And where is the unsourced title for High School Musical 4 coming from?! --IJBall (contribs • talk) 19:30, 6 December 2016 (UTC)
- Found the source. https://www.thehollywoodgossip.com/2009/06/high-school-musical-4-update-title-director-announced/ Looks like "fake news" here. HarrisonSteam (talk) 23:46, 11 November 2017 (UTC)

Status of HSM4
[edit]Last somewhat official word was 18 months ago and filming was supposed to have already begun but hasn't. IMDb which is usually well-up on future films has very limited information and says pre-production which means still in planning stages to them but it could well be abandoned. We shouldn't take anything seriously until IMDb or other sources state that filming has begun until then everything is fluid. Considerations of WP:NFF are also relevant. Not part of the franchise yet and shouldn't be treated as such. Geraldo Perez (talk) 17:04, 11 November 2017 (UTC)
- To add, stuff that wasn't produced for Disney and advertised by Disney as part of this franchise isn't part of the franchise. Geraldo Perez (talk) 22:42, 11 November 2017 (UTC)
- For my $0.02, I total agree – I have been keeping an eye on this since the original 2016 announcement, and absolutely nothing has been reported on it since. Until actual WP:RSs (e.g. Variety) report more on this project, we can assume it is, in fact, dead, or at least in pre-production, and thus not a "real" project yet. As a matter of fact, I'm going to go ahead and remove it from Disney Channel Original Movies for the same reason... --IJBall (contribs • talk) 22:49, 11 November 2017 (UTC)
- The development of the project is noteworthy of mention, however, rather than simply "in the works". For one, the Corbin Bleu information I put is true. The Zac Efron SNL sketch should be mentioned somewhere on this page. Could I make an "unofficial media" section to put the sketch in?
- The SNL sketch belongs under "Other media", but should not be added until sourced to a WP:RS (YouTube is not that). And the HSM4 project is already mentioned in the article – but no "details" (e.g. casting or crew (i.e. we need to remove the director from the infobox), or character details) should be added until the project actually goes into production – those kind of things will change multiple times during pre-production. --IJBall (contribs • talk) 23:32, 11 November 2017 (UTC)
- May I propose the creation of Draft:High School Musical 4? — Preceding unsigned comment added by HarrisonSteam (talk • contribs) 12:57, 12 November 2017 (UTC)
- Anyone can create a draft. But a draft in this case is a very bad idea, as there is no evidence that this project is moving to the production phase, now 18 months after the original announcement. Your time would be better served waiting until there is another set of WP:RS reports that this project is actually assigning casting and ready to imminently start filming. At that point, it would be close to meeting WP:NFF, and would justify the creation of a draft. --IJBall (contribs • talk) 16:33, 12 November 2017 (UTC)

High School Musical China: College Dreams
[edit]Right, just suggesting that a page is made for this film, as there is next to no cast information available in this article. Also, are there any more remakes no included in this article? HarrisonSteam (talk) 23:41, 11 November 2017 (UTC)
