Reference #2 (http://dbi.io/uk/blog/5-examples-of-hero-banner-homepages-that-increase-conversion/) gives a 404. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.149.212.148 (talk) 10:49, 19 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

"In web design, a hero image is a large web banner image" The material referenced by this citation does not say this. It suggests the opposite "These huge background images have been dubbed hero images, a term that has been adopted from the print industry where page filling images are commonly seen in magazines."

In web and print design a hero image is a large background image element that dominates a layouts but can by augmentent with a limited amount of content over the top. Perhaps this opening line can be improved to align more with the citation. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gaskarth (talkcontribs) 14:30, 1 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

failure

[edit]

Utterly fails to convey the general meaning of the term as used. Hero images are those ubiquitous and insufferable images of people in various joyous, tender, personal moment, etc. shots gratuitously placed on a product/service site to sell whatever. 98.4.103.219 (talk) 04:54, 21 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
