That is totally incorrect as for the fates of his six wives. There is a rhyme that has the proper order. i.e. divorced, beheaded, died, divorced, beheaded, survived. Catherine of Aragon was divorced, Anne Bolyen was beheaded, Jane Seymour died of complications after giving birth, Anne of Cleves was divorced, Katherine Howard was beheaded, and Catherine Parr survived him. 2600:1700:A9B0:527F:5CAE:B2BD:EE19:C81E (talk) 07:29, 28 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I think, in the context of English monarchs, Henry VIII is absolutely one whose article length (currently 11.5k words) should be allowed to be reaching into the 10–15k words category, so I don't particularly feel the {{long}} tag is necessary. — Remsense聊09:41, 31 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
To add, the article on the art critic John Ruskin is 198,749 bytes, whereas this one on Henry VIII is 139,890 bytes. Who is the more significant figure? Ponsonby100 (talk) 14:26, 31 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I agree. His articles in de and fr wikipedia are about the same length if not longer and as to navigation: there are more than a dozen chapters, so navigating to the aspects of his life you are interested in should not be that hard. --Proofreader (talk) 23:59, 10 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
England started the new year on March 25th, and would continue to do so until the middle of the 18th century. In actuality his date of death should be in 1546. Some people can't handle the fact the things in the past were not like they are now. Get over it! 2600:1700:A9B0:527F:5CAE:B2BD:EE19:C81E (talk) 07:32, 28 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The figures in the article reflect the sources it cites.
No, let's not "get over it". While I agree that many historical data shouldn't be silently converted to modern conventions, without adequate explanation the change would confuse much more than it would inform. It's a largely vacant distinction for the purposes of a general encyclopedia article.
Henry reigned from the death of his father in 1509. This is correctly stated in the article but in the side bar to the right one of the dates says 1505 not 1509. 27.252.206.119 (talk) 03:28, 22 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
