Notability?

[edit]

What about this guy made him notable enough to write an article about? What'd he do? Titanium Dragon (talk) 23:37, 20 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Nothing much. He's just another example of an all too common type in academia, the "super important guy" who throws his weight around and is hard to circumvent. For a while, he's on all the conferences, he's on the editorial boards, journo's think he's the go-to person. In Britain such people are semi-ironically known as "the great and the good". Then one day he's gone and forgotten. Perhaps you think that academics are too craven, hypocritically playing along with folk like that and then quietly dropping them as soon as they are out of the way. You'd be right, but then, crossing a person like this will ruin your career. So we are really talking about a process of natural selection.137.205.101.77 (talk) 08:31, 3 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

This is a decent start, which a feeling of roundedness beginning to appear, but it is a little barren, not giving the reader enough of a flavour of the man. Edofedinburgh 02:14, 18 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
