Merge

[edit]

Heineken International claims that "The portfolio contains more than 120 beers: [...]", so why should this specific beer be merged into the article of the brewing company? I don't either support or oppose the move. I just ask for an explanation for why it should be moved since no reason has been given either here or in the edit summary. Jeltz talk 19:53, 2 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe the division becomes more clear when we rename the articles Heineken Pilsener (instead of Heineken) for the lager beer and Heineken (instead of Heineken International) for the multinational... – Ilse@ 16:14, 3 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]

I think the currently used Heineken logo is the general company logo. I think the label of the beer bottle should be displayed in the infobox. – Ilse@ 02:30, 8 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Heinekenlogo.png

[edit]

Image:Heinekenlogo.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 23:14, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

German Beer?

[edit]

Why is Heineken labeled as a German Beer? Is "german beer" a international classification of certain types of beers? I (as a german) have never heard about "german beer" except Pilsener, Koelsch, Alt, and other varieties. 131.220.128.75 (talk) 18:35, 30 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Heineken PilsenerHeineken – This beer is not really a pilsener in some sense, since it isn't Czech, but more importantly, nobody calls it "Heineken Pilsener". It's usually called "Heineken", so per WP:COMMONNAME that is where the article should be. Currently Heinekin is a redirect to Heineken International, which is an article about the company, but I think mostly "Heineken" referes to the beer, not the company; see WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. A hatnote can refer readers to Heineken International. ErikHaugen (talk | contribs) 06:30, 21 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Walk-in Fridge commercial

[edit]

I'm hoping to find a more reliable source for this, but apparently, "Walk-in Fridge" is a very popular commercial, just one that has not aired in the United states except as part of a TV special, Clash of the Commercials: USA vs. the World. Having watched the show, I can only say that two outstanding commercials were chosen to compete, "The Force" for the United States, and "Walk-in Fridge" for the rest of the world. In an online competition, "The Force" was selected as the winner.Vchimpanzee · talk · contributions · 20:30, 1 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Edit Warring

[edit]

A quick visit to the page history will show what appears to be an edit war between JAguil940617 and Ctg4Rahat. I do not know why JA is so enthusiastic about editing the page, but it seems to have to deal with a school project. Unfortunately, it also seems that JA has also been marked for spam and vandalism. In the likely case that all of his edits disappear, we should probably go through his last edit and see what should remain on the page.--Spellling (talk) 06:05, 14 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

brewed under license...

[edit]

The 'production' section reads like company spin. Saying *most* Heineken is brewed in The Netherlands (while failing to provide any kind of statistical breakdown), and also sliding in the in-verifyable phrase 'Heineken is the world's most international premium beer'. I can't speak for anyone else, but the Heineken I buy is brewed in Melbourne, by CUB, 'under license' of Heineken. Perhaps it is worth mentioning specific countries in which Heineken is brewed, because personally, Heineken made in Melbourne is not Heineken, just another Australian beer cashing in on a highly-regarded name.203.221.113.60 (talk) 16:20, 20 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

"Beer girls" (i. e. prostitutes) in Africa / Keineken protests in Switzerland

[edit]

I can't find anything about the allegations that Heineken uses prostitutes in Africa to promote its beer. https://m.tagesspiegel.de/gesellschaft/medien/arte-doku-ueber-globalen-alkohol-rausch-gefaehrliche-droge/25820210.html Neither can I find anything about the "Keineken" protests by a small Swiss brewery: https://www.nzz.ch/engelberger_verein_keineken_fordert_bier-giganten_heraus-1.3461554?reduced=true (Sorry, my links are in German, as I just wrote basically the same on the German talk page.) 46.114.136.175 (talk) 23:50, 4 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Heineken purchase origins citation needed

[edit]

In the first line of this article it states that Gerard Heineken persuaded his Mum to buy the brewery for him, however on Heineken's own heritage page there is no evidence of this and they think he got the money from his fathers cheese business. https://www.theheinekencompany.com/our-company/our-heritage

Since this origin is disputed and as far as I can tell there are no sources to prove either way, should the article still say he got the money from his mother? Occasionalpedestrian (talk) 13:15, 14 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

New Topic (sorry don't know why it merged mine with this one, I'm new here) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.28.226.76 (talk) 16:16, 18 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

"It has less alcohol than grape juice or orange juice, which naturally have some alcohol content even if lower than most drinks (0.30 to 0.86)."

I don't think this is correct. The link (14) says that grape juice has an alcohol content of 0.29 to 0.86g/L. As the density of alcohol is 0.789g/mL, this comes to about 0.37-1.09mL/L of alcohol by volume, which is 0.037 to 0.109%. So if as stated just above Heineken 0.0 is 0.05%, that's in the same range as grape juice, not less than. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.28.226.76 (talk) 16:15, 18 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
