Not neutral

[edit]

This article definitely does NOT meet WP's standards for NPOV. --Andrew Phelps 08:06, 11 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, it's a little over the top. I also note that the phrase is still in use by Americans (e.g. referring to Iraq, Afghanistan etc.) heqs 09:24, 15 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I don't normally comment on Wikipedia articles, but this one stuck out like a sore thumb. The first two paragraphs would chill Orwell's bones. I don't claim NPOV for what is arguably a propaganda term, so I haven't made any edits. Can someone change this article and deal with how this policy was carried out in Vietnam using facts instead of romantic ideals? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.46.184.16 (talk) 01:07, 25 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

the opening paragraph of this entry is offensively ridiculous and biased. also, too, lbj didn't coin the term, the brits did in malaya during the emergency a decade before lbj. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.91.228.55 (talk) 01:23, 4 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Adams?

[edit]

What's the basis of saying LBJ was probably referencing John Adams? "Hearts and minds" was originally a biblical expression and I'd guess it's the more likely referent.
