Should

[edit]

Should this article be renamed? The term that is in favor Nowadays and is arguably more PC is "Clinical Laboratory Science," but I'm going to leave that descision to people more experienced than I . Medical technology has developed quite a lot of stuff which makes our lives more easier or at times harder. Things like surgeries, if not done well can have a really bad effect which can depress you for the rest of your life

Biomedical engineering

[edit]

This page should be linked/joined with Biomedical engineering. In my opinion the list of applications in this page is far too short and the field is progressing very rapidly nowadays. Also, links to pharmacy faculties shouldn't be on the page. user:193.167.242.101

I agree with you. Ecoman24 (talk page) 19:31, 12 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Healthcare startups

[edit]

I have a suggestion to possibly add Healthcare startups as a redirect that goes here and add some info on healthcare startups to this page. Currently there is no good wiki article on this topic afaik. Shaded0 (talk) 19:23, 3 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Shaded0: Hi. I am new to Wikipedia. What would be some examples of healthcare startups? I'd be open to working on this together so that I may build my experience within Wikipedia. ThaiTee (talk) 21:27, 3 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I think there are several examples that could be found. There's also different "kinds" ie. healthcare insurance, wearables, monitoring, personal health coach, etc. Per starting a new page on this - make sure to create this in a sandbox page until the page is "finished" to publish. See,Help:Sandbox_tutorial
Here's a few articles to get started. Note: you may run into paywall with some news sites.
Happy to help out if you need it. :) Shaded0 (talk) 16:41, 4 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Global should come before regional

[edit]

Looks like there might be a need for a global health technology article (currently redirects here). II | (t - c) 02:00, 2 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

It was meant to be a global article, but someone moved it to the more specific title because it was insufficiently inclusive of other perspectives. The result was some strange redirects. I've moved it back. The article needs to be expanded. WhatamIdoing (talk) 19:28, 15 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

This Page or "Artificial Intelligence" Page?

[edit]

This seems odd. I am looking at the Artificial intelligence in healthcare page. AI is a technology. It is not a special thing, it is just a technology. So shouldn't the AI page be merged into this one? This page is older, so it seems that this page should have the AI page merged into it.

On the other hand, the AI page gets more love. Both of these pages show many edits in the last year or so, but the AI page shows more edits overall, even though this is older. Is it just the AI aficionados who are driving this? I cannot tell.

But it does seem very duplicative to have two big pages, one being "AI in healthcare" and another being "Health technology in the United States". Unless the AI article should be merged into a "Health technology" page that is not US-specific. Because, after all, none of these is a US-only topic. So. It is not clear. Any thoughts?
