[edit]comment 1
[edit]I don't think it fair that Harry Lee, Sheriff of Jefferson Parish (Louisiana), isn't mentioned in here. He's a revolutionary type of law enforcer and I guarantee future peoples will look back and model their sheriffing on his methods.
comment 2
[edit]-I do not think so, since among Louisianans it has become cliché to point out that he would be a successful governor for the state.
comment 3
[edit]The section on Lee's performance in Jefferson Parish after Hurricane Katrina is tendentious and self-serving. Did his publicist write this? Also, it tries to absolve Lee, the Gretna Police and the City of Gretna of all charges of racism. It is disheartening to see the lengths someone will go to rationalize inhumanity.
comment 4
[edit]There is so much bias in this article - it reads like a campaign ad. There is absolutely no mention of his controversial order issued in the 1980s about black men being stopped in a predominantly white neighborhood - something about a "rinky-dink" car. It is often referenced in other articles throughout wikipedia. He is a controversial figure, and the scope of this controversy should be reported on.
His last name?
[edit]When I look him up in Chinese websites, he is referred as 朱家祥, ie. his last name is Zhu in Chinese. Why does he change his last name to Lee? Kowloonese 06:17, 29 June 2006 (UTC)

Cleanup
[edit]I did some cleanup of the article, and added his picture. Some of the wording almost makes me uncomfortable (reads like a carmpaign ad) but I only did cleanup, and didn't remove any of the content. Borders NPOV, but it doesn't cross the line IMHO. /Blaxthos 09:27, 24 September 2006 (UTC)
Marion Edwards
[edit]Lee's fellow law student at Loyola, Marion Edwards, is NOT the same Marion Edwards who is the brother of Edwin Edwards. This is a common confusion and misperception. The non-governor-related Edwards even poked fun at the confusion in his campaign ads when he was running for judge a few years ago. I changed the text to eliminate any discrepancy.B-Rich 20:41, 3 October 2007 (UTC)
China Lee
[edit]Lee's sister, China (Margaret) Lee, was the first Asian-American Playmate as well as a film actress. I added this notation and inserted a link to her Wikipedia entry as well.B-Rich 20:59, 3 October 2007 (UTC)
Crescent City Connector
[edit]Gretna City police and Jefferson Parish deputies barricaded the CCC itself, not the exit ramps. Added reference from CCC article, among others, and changed statement to describe what Lee did, rather than passive statement about Gretna police being "accused" (by whom) of closing the bridge. Removed special pleading about bridge not being in Lee's jurisdiction, as he was directly involved in the decision to close the bridge and ordered his deputies to participate in closing the bridge. Added multiple references for this, and added references for multiple articles documenting praise and blame for this decision. 71.56.134.100 (talk) 09:46, 19 June 2013 (UTC)

Article issues and assessment
[edit]I hid a lot of unsourced content, as opposed to just removal, because it flew in the face of several policies and guidelines and I plan to try to find sourcing to include some of the material on a rewrite. Some of the tags go back to 2007 so I am not sure how the article was assessed but it does not pass B-class criteria (#1).
