Merger Proposal
[edit]I believe Harmonic damper and Harmonic balancer should be merged. They are basically two names for the same thing, and it's confusing to have two different pages. 24.49.33.58 (talk) 16:41, 18 August 2014 (UTC)
- Merge to harmonic damper. They damp vibrations, they don't "balance" anything. Andy Dingley (talk) 00:00, 13 May 2016 (UTC)

"Modern (roughly 1988+) DOHC, SOHC flat 4, I4, flat 6, I6, V6, flat 8, and flat-plane V8 have no need for this device." I own a 3.8L V6 Dodge engine on a 2006 vehicle and it has a harmonic damper. Is there a source for this statement? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.226.233.206 (talk) 03:44, 26 February 2019 (UTC)
