Background
[edit]Memories triggered by the PBS documentary on the Norwegian heavy water. Feel free to edit the material I found for the article. It is too long and in a rough draft form. Jclerman 23:02, 9 November 2005 (UTC)
- To be edited, as indicated above. It will be done after the copyright problem is cleared up. Jclerman 05:46, 14 November 2005 (UTC)
- Please feel free to continue editing even now, at Hans Suess/Temp. I will begin the article momentarily with some basic information. Per Wikipedia:Copyright problems, if the text copied from the UCSD library site is found by an administrator to be a copyright violation, the copied text will be deleted, and the article at Hans Suess/Temp will be moved to Hans Suess. If there is no copyright violation, the information at Hans Suess/Temp will be merged with the information from the UCSD library.
- Also, if it is the case that the existing Hans Suess article is not a copyright violation, please accept my apologies. NatusRoma 07:30, 14 November 2005 (UTC)
Copyright
[edit]From the UCSD Library Special Collections Home Page: "Publishing from our holdings, either by means of quotations, in facsimile or by other forms of reproduction, requires permission not only from the holders of copyright but also from the UCSD Libraries. Permission to quote is normally freely given, as is the permission to reproduce text or images for such noncommercial use as illustrating a thesis or a dissertation. The Mandeville Special Collections Library assesses a fee for the publication of reproductions for commercial purposes." Jclerman 05:46, 14 November 2005 (UTC)
- Wikipedia may be distributed, either by itself or by its mirrors, for commercial purposes as well as for non-commercial ones. So, it seems to me that we'd have to pay a fee to use the UCSD library's material. NatusRoma 07:30, 14 November 2005 (UTC)
New text available
[edit]New edited text is in the temp page. Please delete the original text and move the temp one. Jclerman 18:34, 18 November 2005 (UTC)
- I would happily do this if I were an administrator, but I am not. User:Petaholmes, whom I've seen move temp pages to their proper locations in the past, might be a good person to ask. NatusRoma 21:09, 18 November 2005 (UTC)
- I wish I'd know more about these things. Thanks for your assistance. I'll try to contact NatusRoma. Thanks again. Jclerman 21:56, 18 November 2005 (UTC)
