Deletion rationale

[edit]

Season 4 of Hannah Montana is not expected to commence until July 2010 and this article contains no meaningful, cited content. For this reason it was redirected to the main episode list at List of Hannah Montana episodes. However, editors keep editing List of Hannah Montana episodes to transclude this page, often resulting in errors such as template loops, mislocation of page data and hiding all content after Season 4 in the article.[1][2][3][4] Deletion of this unnecessary redirect would result only in redlinks appearing in List of Hannah Montana episodes, which seems a better option to TPP. I have no problems taking this to a time consuming AfD but since this redirect is unnecessary and deletion is uncontroversial, CSD:G6 seems a far better and appropriate alternative. --AussieLegend (talk) 12:34, 28 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I do not agree that this is mere housekeeping to delete the redirect. However, I would support deletion at WP:RFD.C.Fred (talk) 16:31, 28 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure what to do with this article, although it may come down to protection of one flavour or another:
  • If the page isn't deleted, it will need protected against editing until around June, when reliable information on season 4 is available.
  • If the page is deleted, it will need protected against creation—and that's end-runnable by creating at a new title.
It's an ugly situation, at least for another three or four months. I'm not sure what solution will be friendliest for new editors and cause the fewest maintenance issues for experienced editors and administrators. —C.Fred (talk) 16:44, 28 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Hrm. Is the best technical solution just to stub an article? We know that season 4 will exist. A minimal article on it will provide the information and funnel the edits to one place, reducing the risk of template loops, while pointing readers back to the main Hannah Montana article rather than the list of episodes. —C.Fred (talk) 18:37, 28 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
FYI, there is this article Hannah Montana (season 4, that is half copied from season 3. I'm not sure how to resolve. Clubmarx (talk) 18:56, 28 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'm redirecting it here. And, per my previous comment, I'm being bold and putting up a stub. —C.Fred (talk) 18:59, 28 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Stub

[edit]

I've gone ahead and boldly put up a stub article. The advantage to the stub over the redirect is that the onlyinclude tags will function on a stub and not cause template looping. I'm also going to go ahead and link it in the list article.

I have no objections to a revert, and I have a copy of the stub in userspace at User:C.Fred/Hannah Montana (season 4). Yes, I tested transclusion before I took it live. It goes without saying that I welcome discussion here on whether this is the optimal solution. —C.Fred (talk) 19:02, 28 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Given the ridiculous amount of maintenance that the main episode list article has required over, particularly, the past two months, I'm happy with leaving this stub up just to see what happens. --AussieLegend (talk) 22:10, 28 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hannah Montana Forever?

[edit]

The alleged branding of the fourth season as Hannah Montana Forever keeps popping into the article. Is there a reliable source for this? The Disney upfront, which is used as a source in the article, makes no mention of it. —C.Fred (talk) 23:35, 22 March 2010 (UTC) Also, episode 8 is called "Hannah's Gonna Get This" featuring Iyaz. She has to write a really good song but can't seem to think of anything, but when she does write the song, the producer said he really likes but it doesn't fit Hannah, so she sings it with Iyaz.[reply]

This edit to Hannah Montana seems to confirm it but it's a linkvio so can't be used as a source. --AussieLegend (talk) 08:04, 23 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Guest Stars

Episode 8

[edit]

Has their been ANY update about the new episode of Hannah Montana: Forever? I have not seen ANYONE type ANYTHING about the new episode of Hannah Montana (I don't know what it is, either), but usually by now episode 8 would have leaked out or something like that. 70.247.191.217 (talk) 00:29, 17 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Wherever I go

Heres an episode: Wherever I Go Part 1

The production code is 413 & 414, seems to be the season finale to me. It's divided in two episodes as well just like the finale was revealed earlier. ♫♪Adyniz♪♫ 13:55, 22 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Showfax is not a reliable source for episode information. It relies on preliminary casting information that can change significantly by the time an episode is produced, let alone aired. --AussieLegend (talk) 16:19, 22 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Last Episode of Hannah Montana?

[edit]

On the top of this page it says there is 12 episode in season 4 Hannah Montana Forever but how ever it names all the episodes but it seems to be missing two or three titles. "I'll Always Remeber You" is the last one listed so is that the very last episode? I would like to know as soon as possible. Last is there any talk that Miley will go one last tour as Hannah Montana for her new CD? Usually when a person gets a new CD out they go on tour with it. But she has Can't Be Tamed to! So I'm not sure. Thank you very much. 75.27.126.150 (talk) 23:50, 25 October 2010 (UTC) ?[reply]

According to this source there are 11 episodes plus a one-hour season finale. Disney says that the finale will air in "Spring" 2011.[5] That's all we have to work on for now. --AussieLegend (talk) 08:19, 1 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The episode was aired in India already and the promo said, it is the season finale. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Halchal (talkcontribs) 18:53, 7 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Episode 9

[edit]

It says it will first air in India on the 7th and the USA after due to time difference. It's also airing in Australia and New Zealand on Nov. 7th. Due to time difference doesn't this mean it will air in New Zealand first and not India? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 219.89.142.82 (talk) 21:50, 1 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

15 episodes in this season?

[edit]

Hey guys, Jason Earles mentioned that there'll be 15 episodes in this final season of HM on his official twitter account. I wanted to add it but just want to discuss it first. So, his verified official twitter account is an authentic source if you ask me. ♫♪Adyniz♪♫ 04:47, 6 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I think I asked something above. Anybody? Or should I just add it in the article? ♫♪Adyniz♪♫ 17:33, 6 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'd like to say add it but it also says "the one hour is episode 9 and 10 for season 4". Both TV Guide and the Disney press release treat "I'll Always Remember You" as a single episode so there is an immediate conflict. We can't treat half of a statement as correct and the other as incorrect, so we really can't use it at this point. --AussieLegend (talk) 17:42, 6 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
True but there were two different directors for each part so I think it should be counted as episode 9 and 10. What do ya say? ♫♪Adyniz♪♫ 02:58, 7 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I think if the Walt Disney Company says it's one episode and that's backed up by another reliable source then we have to go with what they say. What editors may or may not think is addressed in the first sentence of Wikipedia:Verifiability. "The threshold for inclusion in Wikipedia is verifiability, not truth—whether readers can check that material in Wikipedia has already been published by a reliable source, not whether editors think it is true." --AussieLegend (talk) 04:14, 7 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

{{edit semi-protected}} Please change the word "Stanford" in the summary of "I'll Always Remember You" to "Standford". It can be explicitly seen (and heard) in the episode that it is not the real Stanford University they're referencing, but an expy with a "d" between the "n" and the "f".

YouTube is not generally a reliable source. Reliable sources such as TV Guide and The Futon Critic, which base their content on press releases, show the episode title as "Kiss It All Goodbye". --AussieLegend (talk) 06:45, 26 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Logo vs. DVD

[edit]

I see that the DVD cover has been put up. Should the DVD be there or the Hannah Montana Forever logo? --DisneyFriends (talk) 18:46, 8 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

15 episodes

[edit]

I was just wondering how can there be two production codes for an episode? If there are two episodes airing in one night they should be credited as two episodes and not as "special one hour episode"! This would mean that HM season 4 has 15 episodes, as Jason Earles has already confirmed... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.2.152.204 (talk) 12:37, 15 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure how the episodes ended up with two production codes. Both of those episodes have been advertised by Disney as one-hour special episodes, not two back to back episodes. In the case of "I'll Always Remember You", it was aired as one episode with one set of credits so that makes it one episode, despite the uncited production codes. --AussieLegend (talk) 12:58, 15 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Finale Article

[edit]

There are separate articles for the pilot episode, crossover episodes, Jonas episode, and Jake episode. Should the series finale or the special episode also have it's own article? --DisneyFriends (talk) 16:18, 16 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Any episode can have its own article but notability must be demonstrated and it can't be a plot-only description. Of the episode articles that you linked to, only Lilly, Do You Want to Know a Secret? complies with MOS:TV. The other articles probably wouldn't survive AfD. --AussieLegend (talk) 16:57, 16 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hannah Montana (season 4)Hannah Montana Forever

  • I'm purely basing this request on the fact that the sixth and final season of The Hills was, like this, promoted with an alternative name - The Hills: Final Season - rather than The Hills (season 6), and that that alternative is what the title of the article is. Unreal7 (talk) 20:22, 31 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose - Despite being advertised as Hannah Montana Forever this is still the fourth season of Hannah Montana and various guides do not list it as Hannah Montana Forever.[6][7][8] This is one of the reasons that the article was move protected. There is nothing to be gained from making the name of this article inconsistent with the naming convention established for other seasons and, if you want to start citing examples of WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS, despite each season being named differently, the five seasons of Sea Patrol (titled Sea Patrol, Sea Patrol II: The Coup, Sea Patrol: Red Gold, Sea Patrol IV and Sea Patrol V: Damage Control) are all at Sea Patrol (season x) for consistency. --AussieLegend (talk) 04:34, 1 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. As AussieLegend noted, the season is not widely known by the alternate title. The current situation, with the redirect, lets people find the article if they search for the alternate title, yet also makes clear that this is a continuation of the Hannah Montana franchise, not a separate show. —C.Fred (talk) 15:03, 1 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Love That Lets Go

[edit]

There has been some disagreement about the episode's name, where it is written "Love That Let's [sic] Go" with a dead link, claimed to be the proof that that writing is the correct one. I brought some very reliable souces such as iTunes and amazon.com. Also I bring other reliable sources that shows it the same way: TV Guide, The Futon Critic and tv.msn.com. I am reverting this again and hope no one will revert it, unless one has some more reliable sources to prove me wrong. Artmanha (talk) 19:01, 12 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Firstly, please do not edit-war. I asked you on your talk page to respect the Bold, revert, discuss cycle and reverting only indicates that you are not willing to do that. As I indicated on your talk page,[9] WP:STATUSQUO says that while the matter is under discussion, and until such time as there is consensus for your changes, the status quo prevails. Therefore, you should not revert. I've also pointed you to WP:DEADLINK which says Do not delete cited information solely because the URL to the source does not work any longer. WP:Verifiability does not require that all information be supported by a working link, nor does it require the source to be published online. WP:DEADLINK also says "do not delete a URL solely because the URL does not work any longer." Further, I've also told you that the source that you deleted was the original source used to verify the episode, as aired, was titled "Love That Let's Go", and since the source was from Disney, it was authoritative. It was well discussed at the time the episode aired, which is why it was restored to the article in April when a troublesome editor with a history of OR edits decided to change the title. While other sources may now omit the apostrophe for whatever reason, it aired as "Love That Let's Go", which is why it is listed as that in the article. However, as we have different spellings from different reliable sources, we should probably list both, taking advantage of |AltTitle= and |RAltTitle=, which are provided in {{Episode list}} for that purpose. --AussieLegend () 19:21, 12 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed, we should also do that for the episode "Kiss It Goodbye" then. Artmanha (talk) 20:13, 12 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Colour contrast problems

[edit]

It seems that this article is using colours in the infobox which don't satisfy Wikipedia's accessibility guidelines. The contrast between the foreground colour and the background colour is low, which means that it may be difficult or impossible for people with visual impairments to read it.

To correct this problem, a group of editors have decided to remove support for invalid colours from Template:Infobox television season and other television season templates after 1 September 2015. If you would still like to use custom colours for the infobox and episode list in this article after that date, please ensure that the colours meet the WCAG AAA standard.

To test whether a colour combination is AAA-compliant you can use Snook's colour contrast tool. If your background colour is dark, then please test it against a foreground colour of "FFFFFF" (white). If it is light, please test it against a foreground colour of "000000" (black). The tool needs to say "YES" in the box for "WCAG 2 AAA Compliant" when you input the foreground and the background colour. You can generally make your colour compliant by adjusting the "Value (%)" fader in the middle box.

Please be sure to change the invalid colour in every place that it appears, including the infobox, the episode list, and the series overview table. If you have any questions about this, please ask on Template talk:Infobox television season. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 05:30, 2 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
