Communications tower

Both the colour photos show a microwave tower, but not the 1980 photo. Does anyone know if it is part of Centralized_traffic_control#New_Zealand, or what it's purpose is and when it was built? This map shows it as LTE Freq 2 Degrees. A green electricity cabinet attached to it has a label reading, "TELSTRA/CLEAR MAIN INCOMER 100A SUPPLY".
