Contested deletion

[edit]

This page should not be speedy deleted as pure vandalism or a blatant hoax, because... (your reason here) --Gav Thorpe (talk) 15:51, 7 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I am inexperienced at editing and creating wiki pages. I will clean this up quickly as I refamiliarize myself with the process.

I see citation error on the page. I could use some help cleaning the page up.

[edit]

An image used in this article, File:Half Way Letter.jpg, has been nominated for speedy deletion for the following reason: Wikipedia files with no non-free use rationale as of 9 October 2011

What should I do?

Don't panic; you should have time to contest the deletion (although please review deletion guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to provide a fair use rationale
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale, then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Deletion Review

origins of "he's gone to hell"?

[edit]

was this phrase used exclusively for workers who perished falling off of bridges, or did this phrase apply to other tall structures, too? does anyone know the origins of the phrase? JointCompound (talk) 06:24, 4 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

NO-tability

[edit]

Sorry, but I think there's a notability problem here. It's a interesting sidelight to construction of the GG Bridge, and should be noted there, plus maybe a photo, but the list of names is inappropriate -- we don't name nonnotables that way unless there's some good reason. I'm not going to fuss about it, though. EEng 17:42, 15 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
