Nothing is known about Hajji Ahmed other than what is written on the map. Actually his very existence is in doubt. Therefore writing a biography of this "cartographer" seems senseless to me. This article should be renamed "Hajji Ahmed map" and centered on the map itself, dealing with the author as only one chapter of a larger whole. --Hispalois (talk) 20:00, 23 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Presumably "Hajji" is a honorific title rather than a first name..? In which case, perhaps we should de-emphasise it a little in the body of the article and mostly call him Ahmed? bobrayner (talk) 12:57, 23 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Bob, Hajji is in effect a honorific title but, as I commented a few months ago, most reference sources affirm that this "Hajji Ahmed" probably was a fictitious name. The article should be renamed "Hajji Ahmed map" and deal primarily with the map, which is the real encyclopedic fact. --Hispalois (talk) 06:36, 5 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
