Maximumpower
[edit]I think there's an error in the first alinea. Stated is a max. power transmission for the line of 160Mw. According to simple calculations, P=U*I so P = 10^5 V * 800 A = 80Mw ? Where did the factor two go ?
It's a bipolar line. The voltage of 100 kV is between a cable and the sea (and -100 kV between the other cable and the sea). In fact the voltage between the two cables is 200 kV. Elagatis 20:26, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
DC power

According to the High-voltage direct current page high voltage DC suffers less loss than AC over long distances, especially for underwater cables.

Name
[edit]It seems that the official name of this cable is Interconnexion France–Angleterre and this is in use also in the English sources, most significantly by the National Grid plc (http://www2.nationalgrid.com/About-us/European-business-development/Interconnectors/france/).
