What one would need to know to begin with is, does the sim support a single controller device, or multiple control devices?

MiG-29 and Su-27

[edit]

There is possible a mistake. "Shlem" /Russian for helmet/ is a name of air combat mode. I mean there are such modes of combat on those fighters like DVB /BVR/, BVB /CAC/, Zemlya /Ground/ and Shlem is one of them. So possibly it is not the name of the system. Yes, I think you're probably right. Or maybe its a new Elbit system called "schlimazel"?? Martinevans123 (talk) 22:17, 17 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Labelling

[edit]

I would suggest that "individual HOTAS controls are not labelled, as an operational pilot is expected to learn their functions and to identify them by location and touch alone." I would also argue that this claim is self-evident, which is why sources to support it may be scarce. There may be some colour-coding for safety-related functions such as late arm. Can any other editors provide any evidence to the contrary? I realise that the images in the infobox have some labels, but I guess that's because they are from a simulator. Thanks. 205.239.40.3 (talk) 09:02, 11 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The infobox image of the single throttle grip is also a bit misleading, as in most conventional fast jets, the throttle is split between left and right engine, with different switches located on each half. It should also be noted that individual switch force requirements may need to be tailored to suit different fingers and finger positions. 205.239.40.3 (talk) 13:50, 11 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
