I shall be reviewing this article against the Good Article criteria, following its nomination for Good Article status. AustralianRupert (talk) 22:14, 10 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Progression

[edit]
  • Version of the article when originally reviewed: [1]
  • Version of the article when review was closed: [2]

Technical review

[edit]
  • no dabs found by the tools;
  • ext links work;
  • no images, so alt text not an issue.

Criteria

[edit]
  • It is reasonably well written.
    a (prose): b (MoS):
  • inconsistent punctuation: in the lead "a B-class destroyer built", but in the infobox "B class destroyer" (should the hyphen be used in the infobox also?);
  • "The flotilla was reassigned to Home Fleet in September 1936". Should there be a "the" before "Home Fleet"?
  • "detonated inside No. 3 boiler room" (should this be "detonated inside the No. 3 boiler room" (emphasis add to highlight suggested change only);
  • Both done.
  • It is factually accurate and verifiable.
    a (references): b (citations to reliable sources): c (OR):
  • there is some inconsistency here: "The ship's complement was 134 officers and enlisted men, although it increased to 142 during wartime". But then infobox says: "Complement: 138"
  • in the References the Lenton and Rohwer works don't appear to be specifically cited, should they be included in a Further reading section instead of References?
  • Both done.
  • It is broad in its coverage.
    a (major aspects): b (focused):
  • "The ship became the emergency destroyer at Devonport in March 1939". What does "emergency destroyer" entail?
  • I'm kind of curious about that myself. My sources don't detail what that involves.
  • is there any information on ship's captains? Sometimes sources might provide a little snapshot of the commands, for instance the ship's first captain, or the officer in command when the ship was sunk. No dramas if the sources don't mention it;
  • Nothing's available on the captains.
  • the ship's pennant number is mentioned in the infobox, but not in the prose, I wonder if it should/could be;
  • I added a cite.
  • as above, the ASDIC is mentioned in the infobox, but not in the prose. It could probably be worked in with just a small sentence.
  • Added.
  • No issues.
  • It is stable.
    No edit wars etc.:
  • No issues.
  • It contains images, where possible, to illustrate the topic.
    a (tagged and captioned): b (Is illustrated with appropriate images): c (non-free images have fair use rationales): d public domain pictures appropriately demonstrate why they are public domain:
  • There are currently no images and while it is not necessarily a requirement, I wonder if there might be one available. I'm not sure of the copyright status of these, but I found a few here: [3];
  • Added.
  • Overall:
    a Pass/Fail:

Thanks for the review.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 16:43, 11 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
