The HIStory Tour's Achievements
I've read from various sources that this tour holds the record for attendance, with 4.5 million fans attending 82 concerts, that's an average of 54,878 fans per concert. It beat's his previous record's for Dangerous (50,724) & Bad (35,772).
But I don't know how much this tour grossed. The Bad Tour grossed $125 million when it ended in January of 1989. All proceeds from the Dangerous were supposed to have went to charity, but there's no official gross on that one either.
Lip syncing & Trivia
I have undone the stuff about lip syncing and the trivia about the Brunei concert. Thank you to who ever wrote the passage, but it is not needed here. The lip syncing was never criticized while Michael was on tour- there is not one review I have seen that mentioned it once. If you can find me a reference to prove me wrong, by all means, please do so. The tour has been criticized by fans in recent years, and not by those who saw the show. It's unencyclopaedic and doesn't need to be mentioned here unless it was a widely reported thing, which it was not. Please do not put back in without references. Also the Earth song comments are lovely by obviously biased. Thank you. Marnifrances 05:31, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
I put in some citation needed tags in the Trivia section. I don't know where the Laryngitis rumour comes from, but it seems dubious to just claim these things. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.141.162.202 (talk) 02:18, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
Televised concert section
This section is not needed at all. Nothing is cited from appropriate sources, and it is heavy fan-based material. Highly encyclopaedic. 92.12.61.195 (talk) 17:50, 26 April 2010 (UTC)
Agreed. I think this section needs to be removed as soon as possible. It is taking up lots of space in an article which is already quite long. Do we really need separate setlists for every single televised performance? No, especially since many of these setlists are the same. Likewise, do we really need all the little details about what jacket MJ wore, or whether he sang live for a couple of seconds during the first song? No. This is fan-based, wasting space, and much too encyclopaedic. Sylvestermccoyfan7 (talk) 13:05, 27 April 2014 (UTC)
HIStory Royal Concert / Brunei segment
who is the idiot that deleted the Brunei Concert segment of the article and the whole article, HIStory Royal Concert. whoever it was is a t**t and a wan**r
Cancelled Concerts
What is the source of this section? for this, it's ok because tickets were on sale in Ljubljana but it was cancelled..and we remember the death of Lady Di August 31, 1997: Ostend, Belgium; Resheduled for September 3, 1997(Due to the Death of Princess Diana)
but what about Barcelona, Palermo and Tunis? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 197.0.61.246 (talk) 09:43, 3 October 2010 (UTC)
There were rumors at the time that the Tour was gonna start in Morocco before Prague, then the concert was cancelled.. but this is not enough to put it in the article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 197.0.61.246 (talk) 09:46, 3 October 2010 (UTC)
The article now
This article is getting out of hand. It is packed with fan research. Same to the Dangerous World Tour article.
The Brunei performance does not need to be in an article about the HIStory Tour. Maybe one or two sentences, but that's it. It should be moved to his concert tours page. We also don't need information about what TV channels aired what, and what type of bootleg recordings there are. Also, the information about what audio/video concerts are available are not needed in an encyclopaedia.
I don't know why a few edits that try to resolve these are reverted??

sources
The entire article is full of unreferenced numbers and trivia. I have tagged it for sources, yet editors ignore this and keep introducing unreferenced figures. I am going to start removing the most offending things - attendance numbers, which keep changing every day since no source is provided, and with time move to everything else which is unreferenced . Please don't re-introduce things without specifying a reliable source. --Muhandes (talk) 06:50, 14 February 2011 (UTC)
Royale Brunei Concert
The Songs was planned Give In To Me,In The Closet,Who Is It,Dangerous,Dirty Diana,Workin'Day and Night,Will You Be There and Remember The Time for the Concert. And The Earth Song was not performed with the cherry picker part!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.50.38.87 (talk) 17:20, 15 April 2011 (UTC)
Audience attendace figures.
Nowadays it is very difficult to give proven and accurate information about the audience attendance figures during the History tour.
I please you not to write attendance figures into this article, because I have seen many different numbers and I am of the opinion that the attendance numbers should be therefore excluded.

Correction of Tour Date Information
- The following discussion is an archived record of a request for comment. Please do not modify it. No further edits should be made to this discussion. A summary of the conclusions reached follows.
Dear Editors of the HIStory World Tour,
I hope this message finds you well. I recently reviewed the information related to the HIStory World Tour and came across a minor error, particularly in the section detailing the tour dates. I would like to propose a correction to ensure the accuracy of our records. In the tour dates section, it is mentioned that Michael Jackson visited "Taiwan" during his Asian tour. While he did indeed perform there, it is important to note that, according to the general consensus of the international community, Taiwan is not an independent country. Therefore, I suggest amending "Taiwan" to "People's Republic of China" to accurately reflect this fact. I understand that many sources on the internet may refer to Taiwan due to their focus on the performance location rather than geopolitical issues. Additionally, given certain Western influences attempting to divide China, some malicious media outlets may intentionally refer to Taiwan as an independent country. However, as a free and open wiki website, we have a responsibility to ensure the accuracy of information and inform people that Michael Jackson visited what is officially recognized as Chinese Taiwan. I can provide numerous reputable sources, including official statements from the United States government and relevant United Nations documents, to support the assertion that Taiwan is an integral part of China. These sources explicitly state that Taiwan is a province of China. I appreciate your dedicated work and hope that this suggestion will help ensure the accuracy of our tour information. If further discussion or assistance is needed, please do not hesitate to contact me. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Masonjams (talk • contribs) 06:48, 28 September 2023 (UTC)
- He did perform in Taiwan though, and there are multiple sources that say that "he performed in Taiwan", like these sources here, here and here. HorrorLover555 (talk) 07:27, 28 September 2023 (UTC)
