Notability
[edit]This article needs more than simple copyediting and wikifying, I feel that the information about the specific cases the subject is involved in should be moved to their own pages, but as I am not an expert in law cases on wikipedia I will leave that move to another user.
A concern I have with the article is that the only references listed seem to be articles posted on a personal website which are written by one of the plaintiffs in the cases mentioned.
In fact, I believe the subject of this article does not have sufficient notoriety see WP:NOTE

- I think you may be correct regarding general notoriety - although I think this article was originally built in a wave of articles related to Hawaiian sovereignty, where he does have significant notoriety. Tough call. --JereKrischel 02:23, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
- Subject has since died se[[1]]; agree with Matt. -- --skinnerbird (talk) 22:47, 2 June 2016 (UTC)
William's wife's ancestry
[edit]Since there's always a quoting and re-quoting of Sandra Puanani Burgess' full name and that she is half Chinese, a quarter Hawaiian and a quarter Fiilpino, I am happy to report that after 5 years of trying to find out her ancestry, I finally did it this morning within 1 1/2 hours.
Born Sandra Puanani VON, daughter of Arthur VON and Blanche TIMBALL. Her father Arthur Fah Hee VON was born on April 24, 1925 in Honolulu, O'ahu and died October 21, 2001 in Honolulu, O'ahu. He was the son of Albert VON born around 1892 in China and Lucy S. K. TAM born around 1902 in Wailuku, Maui. Lucy TAM was the daughter of Sei Kau TAM born around 1866 in China and Ah Hou born around 1866 in China. Sei Kau Tam arrived in Hawaii in 1879 while Ah Hou arrived in Hawaii around 1872.
Her mother Blanche L. Kealoha TIMBAL was born December 18, 1927 in Kukuihaele, Hawaii and died July 19, 2003 in Honolulu, Hawaii. Blanche was the daughter of Micario TIMBAL born April 16, 1897 in the Philippines and Esther KEALOHA born Jan 18, 1904 in Hilo, Hawaii and died August 1980 in San Jose, California.
This verifies who she says as far as her ancestry goes. Mamoahina (talk) 16:33, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
