Commercial and military divers depth claim
[edit]Commercial and military divers do not operate at the depths claimed on scuba. They use surface supply and usually do those depths as saturation dives. • • • Peter (Southwood) (talk): 14:13, 8 September 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks, Peter. That is a poorly referenced bit of info that I included largely off a comment made during a discussion on scubaboard by one of the ex-commercial divers on the site who said that he was involved in a team testing commercial scuba down to those depths (although it never went beyond testing). But I don't have any WP:RS to back the statement. I'll dig around and if I can't find anything solid to support it, I'll remove it. Separately, I am virtually certain I have something in one of my textbooks which states that the US Navy has military rebreathers which are used at depths in excess of 1,200 feet. If I can dig out the reference I'll cite the book reference. --Legis (talk - contribs) 14:21, 8 September 2015 (UTC)
