Largely based on Japanese wartime sources

This article is largely based on Japanese military sources from 1937, written during the time when Japan was occupying China. The article's repeated assertions about the supposedly defensive and civilian-friendly intentions of the Japanese are controversial and non-neutral, to say the least.
