There might be a bias as the people who have seen this article might be more on the inclusionist side compared to those involved in AFC and AFD. Kk.urban (talk) 00:47, 30 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
At the same time, no one in the discussion over there seems to even be attempting to look into or discuss existing brought up reliable sources and how they relate to notability. There instead seems to be a vociferous intent to have her article be deleted at all costs. Not sure if there's some sort of controversy about her that would be an explanation for that. Controversies aside (might there actually be any beyond some impenetrable, inscrutable, and indigest exotic raw local Nordic fare), I don't see any actual talk here on enwiki about deleting the article (apart from the heading and first comment of this particular "Talk" section) – which makes good sense since both WP:AUTH and WP:ACADEMIC seem like enough to get her over the SNG threshold; as, it would also seem, do her numerous published translations of rather important works of literature (which, in some of the earlier cases, were apparently done working in collaboration with her recent Nobel-laureate ex-husband); idem her recently published and apparently well-received novel, etc. -- Cl3phact0 (talk) 21:44, 30 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
anyone can nominate for Delete at AfD/RfD. But the article has to be nominated first, to get the process started.--Don't worry about all the "wiki-lawyering", that might continue to permeate this thread.--This article seems to be little more than puffery that puts a glossy spin on things.--Case in point: the article says that she had some connection to the University in Bergen: however, I saw an online source a few days ago, which described her title at a Norwegian "college-below-univerity".--Do i care that she might not ever have been an associate professor? No, cuz someone can later become wiki-notable even if one never got a higher position than vitenskapelig assistent ('scientific assistant').--Do i think that the "Barbra-Steisand effect" will become the fate of this article? Yeah. The smart thing to do is to stop the grandstanding, and maybe it might take only 3 or 5 years until someone nominates this article for deletion.--By then she might actually have attained SIGCOV. 46.15.119.63 (talk) 00:45, 1 November 2023 (UTC) (Previously known as 2001:2020:31D:B98F:502F:9098:9C1E:A642)[reply]
A lot of arguments, that indicate that she is not wiki-notable: see simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Requests_for_deletion/Requests/2023/Grethe_Fatima_Syéd.--Note: there was cross-wiki canvasing, but the article was kept (in this first deletion discussion); Closing administrator justified in part with "no one closes as delete, so let's keep. Also keep to honor the translation".--One can look out for how this topic might fare at wikipedia in Swedish, Danish and German.--If and when an article gets shot down there, then that might give a hint at what should happen with our article.--No rush. 2001:2020:311:8389:8CE4:49F4:DD0B:75FD (talk) 23:48, 8 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
