Transwikied recipe to Cookbook
[edit]Wikipedia is not for recipes, so I moved the recipe to Wikibooks:Cookbook:Green bean casserole, leaving just a description and link. --01:01, 15 October 2006 (UTC)
Requested photo
[edit]A photo of a casserole dish with green bean casserole has been requested. Find one and make me hungry! [[Briguy52748 17:17, 10 April 2007 (UTC)]]
- any of these flickr photos would work, but they aren't perfect. --MattWright (talk) 23:02, 19 April 2007 (UTC)
Source
[edit]Theres a source showing on the page. I tried to fix it but I have never cited a source using a book on wiki. Can somebody fix? Andrew Colvin (talk) 04:23, 28 May 2009 (UTC)
More sources for future expansion
[edit]There's a lot of good info about Dorcas Reilly out there, like these two:
- https://www.npr.org/sections/thesalt/2015/11/24/456237098/green-bean-casserole-the-thanksgiving-staple-we-love-or-loathe
and here's a journal article about "Green bean casserole and the Midwestern identity":
removal
[edit]I removed unsourced content about variations that had been added by a now-blocked user and was apparent OR. Valereee (talk) 11:25, 24 April 2023 (UTC)
History of green bean casserole
[edit]A recipe for Snap Bean Casserole appears on p. 133 of the Betty Furness Westinghouse Cook Book, 1954, a year before Reilly's recipe. It includes green beans and and condensed cream of mushroom soup, just like Reilly's recipe, but it does not include the onions. MonteGargano (talk) 19:03, 27 June 2024 (UTC)
