Utopian vision or reality?
[edit]I removed the following passage:
"This sort of society was found in the Xia, Shang and early Zhou dynasties, when the great Tao was operating, through the outstanding leaders of those times. Confucius described himself as being incapable of achieving the Great Unity and aspired to do so; he was living in a Small Tranquility (小康) society, where the great Tao had been hidden, the states were ruled by different families and the people loved their own parents and children only."
If the "Great Unity" is a utopian vision (and it certainly is, if not a dystopian one) then "this sort of society" was certainly NOT found anywhere, least of all during the Xia, Shang and Zhou dynasties. Str1977 (talk) 19:13, 10 August 2013 (UTC)
Confucius is endorsing waste?
[edit]"People disliked seeing resources being dumped on ground but did not seek to process them"
So when garbage is dumped don't try to reuse, reduce, recycle? I doubt this is what Confucius is saying but it's not really clear what he is trying to say here.35.8.36.17 (talk) 19:55, 9 September 2013 (UTC)
Great Unity or Great Harmony is the correct word for it?
[edit]As title mentioned, any advice on this? Thank you. 113.161.178.82 (talk) 08:41, 20 April 2024 (UTC)
