Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on Grand Theft Auto III. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:

Yes! One of my favourite childhood games right here. I remember those good days of watching my brother play this in the early 2000s, and my six-year old self playing it after watching Hey Arnold!. Why aren't times like that now? JAGUAR  19:59, 9 April 2016 (UTC)

Initial comments

  • "and the first main entry since 1999's Grand Theft Auto 2" - how about losing the "1999" and changing this to and the first main entry since Grand Theft Auto 2 (feel free to ignore, but I felt a small cut made the sentence flow better)
  • "Development was shared between DMA Design in Edinburgh" - link Edinburgh
  • "However, the game also generated controversy, with criticism directed at the game's depiction of violence and sexual content" - too many 'games' in one sentence, I would recommend cutting the one highlighted
  • "Should players take damage, their health meter can be fully regenerated through the use of health pickups" - pick-ups (hyphenated in British English)
  • "The game lets players control the mute criminal Claude" - link muteness
  • "He is a silent protagonist, never uttering a word throughout his appearances" - bit informal
  • "GamePro's Four-Eyed Dragon found the cars simple to maneuver" - manoeuvre
  • "the game had been subject to a great deal of controversy" - sounds unencyclopaedic
  • "a modified version was re-released with an MA15+ classification in January 2015, removing all instances of sexual acts with prostitutes" - curious, this new release has to be a mobile version? Could be explained here
  • "Producer Dan Houser stated that the team was conscious of the offense that the game would attract" - offence
  • No dead links or linkrot. Impressive!
  • No dab links

Excellent article. It's well written and very comprehensive, near FA quality if I'm honest. On hold until all are addressed. JAGUAR  16:22, 10 April 2016 (UTC)

@Jaguar: Thanks for the review! I went through and addressed your issues. Let me know if there's anything else. – Rhain 07:31, 11 April 2016 (UTC)
That would be all, thanks for addressing them! By all means, promoted. JAGUAR  11:21, 11 April 2016 (UTC)

Xbox version

The article incorrectly states that the Xbox version of GTA III was cancelled, but it actually wasn't. Is this true or false? DBZFan30 (talk) 13:59, 17 July 2016 (UTC)

@DBZFan30: Can you not read my edit summaries? I find it odd that I've explained this numerous times yet you're still confused. The sentence in question—"The game was planned to release on the Nintendo GameCube and Xbox, but the former was later cancelled."—makes it very clear that only the GameCube version (in this sentence, "the former") was cancelled. Furthermore, the following sentence further outlines more information regarding the release of the Xbox version, should any misunderstanding reader seek clarification. Thanks for bringing this to the talk page. – Rhain 14:25, 17 July 2016 (UTC)

I'm sorry

I just wanted to say me and my friend (an anonymous user) are sorry for attacking this page lately. We were only trying to improve one sentence, but our edits were always undone by Rhain and Lordtobi (). Since this is a good article, there's no point in editing it unless there's vandalism or news about a re-release of the game. Anime fans and gamers like me and my friend are not stupid and we understand what "the former" means in that one sentence. We would never insult other gamers over the Internet or treat them the way we did. Wikipedia will never be a reliable source anyway since it's constantly changing. I'm sorry for pissing both of you off. I promise that this will never happen again. DBZFan30 (talk) 06:04, 19 February 2017 (UTC)
