Hotel as a military HQ
[edit]I have never heard of any military HQ at the Grand Hotel. Pse can we have a reliable citation for this? Mikeo1938 (talk) 12:02, 29 April 2012 (UTC)
It was the Headquarters of SHAPE...Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers In Europe....And SHAFE...Supreme Headquarters Allied Forces In Europe. The hotel was used as both the officers mess and accommodation. The "American Bar" was the most popular there. My father was the head barman. A uniformed corporal from the Northamptonshire Regt. His records show quite patently his posting there. It was full of Americans after Operation Bolero, and other Allied Forces. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.179.109.201 (talk) 11:28, 16 March 2013 (UTC)
