Govdelivery.com
[edit]Govdelivery.com is spamming company. Either that, or they are too incompetent to send newsletters solely to people whom have actually registered these newsletters.
Their "registration process" is as follows: Go to https://public.govdelivery.com/accounts/USEERE/subscriber/new enter somebody's email address, then you can click numereous checkboxes for registering your victim to numereous newsletters. There is no email confimation used. And there's no password used. If the owner of the email address was already registered at govdelivery, then one can also view and edit that person's newsletter subscriptions.
Interestingly, http://www.nasa.gov/ is having a govdelivery subscription box right on their front-page. This is having the same security leaks, and does allow to register the owner of the email address to some further newsletters which aren't availabe via the https://public.govdelivery.com/accounts/USEERE/subscriber/new link.
Also, here's a reference http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/08/22/white-house-reveals-identity-firm-sent-unsolicited-e-mails-health-reform/ (the article may be considered to contain anti-obama propaganda, but nonetheless, it does give a good description of govdelivery company). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.240.68.212 (talk) 21:27, 31 December 2013 (UTC)
Cirosantilli2 (talk) 21:00, 30 June 2020 (UTC) Exactly! I've been signed up to hundreds of those mailing lists by someone. I just mark everything from them as spam on Gmail nowadays, but I still receive a few emails from them every other month.
GovDelivery is a web-based e-mail subscription management system that allows a member of the public (user) to subscribe to news and information on DHS websites. The GovDelivery user selects specific topics that interest them. Whenever information on that topic is made available by the Department, the user that has subscribed to that topic receives an email. The user’s subscription profile consists of their email address and the topics they wish to receive email updates for. The user may customize and manage their subscription profile in order to receive exactly the types of information they desire, and they may cancel their subscriptions at any time. https://www.dhs.gov/govdelivery-privacy-policy-and-notice — Preceding unsigned comment added by 131.92.254.10 (talk) 21:30, 24 August 2022 (UTC)
