Houteng Xinping 後藤新平

Could you translate zh:後藤新平 into English, for the Scouting WikiProject? Whoever he is, he's got to be important.Chris 02:30, 1 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

As far as I can understand (the babelfish translation), he was a senior governmental officer. Scouting is only mentioned in the picture's subtitle. --jergen 07:10, 1 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

He was important (but not in Hong Kong): this is Goto Shimpei, the first Chief Scout of Japan. Wim van Dorst (Talk) 20:28, 13 September 2006 (UTC).[reply]

- Hmmm.. interesting. I always find it neat to see the connections between Chinese pronunciation and Japanese. Houteng Xinping doesn't sound entirely unlike Goto Shimpei. Neat. LordAmeth 23:32, 29 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Project Assessment
