Not The Theme Song

[edit]

I'm pretty sure Gonna Fly Now is NOT the theme of Rocky. The song played at the beginning of Rocky is called "Fanfare for Rocky". Gonna Fly Now is the most famous song from the movie, but it is not the theme. Consider changing please. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.29.65.87 (talk) 00:21, 31 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It is! Let's compare.
    • Gonna Fly Now: 1, 2, 3, 5 (I Think), Balboa
    • Fanfare: 1, 2, 3, 5

So It Is. And for the record "Eye Of A Tiger" is the most famous 24.56.20.41 (talk) 00:39, 27 April 2009 (UTC) HES REFERRING TO ROCKY 1 AS THE MOVIE NOT ROCKY 3 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.186.100.173 (talk) 12:39, 5 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Lyrics

[edit]

There's a claim that the lyrics are only 30 words long, and that's what appeared in the movie, but there are other lyrics, starting "Rocky's ready to make a move, yeah". Was this a ploy like Gene Roddenberry's, writing unused words to the Trek theme song to be able to claim royalties on it? Or were they just tagged on later, or dropped earlier? What's the history here? --184.153.150.57 (talk) 18:12, 22 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Was it inspired by Beethoven ?

[edit]

Does anyone else think like me that the fanfare at the beginning of this song played by brassy trumpets was inspired by the first bars of the symphony called “Wellington’s Victory” by Ludwig van Beethoven ? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Clio XIX-XX (talkcontribs) 12:32, 20 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Multiple song samples

[edit]

I have reverted the addition of multiple song samples. There is no sourced commentary to support these nonfree song samples so they do not meet WP:NFCC#8. And multiple versions of them collectively fail to adhere to WP:NFCC#3a. -- Whpq (talk) 15:34, 12 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, removal is the correct action. Binksternet (talk) 15:45, 12 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
