link to imaginary friend article

[edit]

Belief in a deity has been likened by prominent atheist thinker as analogous to having an imaginary friend. Therefore the link in the "see also" is both serious and legitimate.

If links to sports people nicknamed "god" are legitimate and not deleted why molest this link, Albatross2147 (talk) 03:20, 13 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A disambiguation page is not the proper place to list proposed analogies, it is only for things with the same or similar names. Gamaliel (talk) 04:27, 13 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Do you have a Wp policy on that or is that part of your belief system too? If the link increases people's knowledge whats the harm? Albatross2147 (talk) 00:17, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Please see Wikipedia:Disambiguation before you continue edit warring. Gamaliel (talk) 00:35, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It's a Guideline and therefore it is not set in stone and should be treated with common sense and the occasional exception.. This is one of the latter. Please do not impute bad faith with your weasel words. You were the one who started this so called edit war with your high handed reversions of a legitimate edit. You may not like god being likened to an imaginary friend but that's too bad. She's big enough to take it. Albatross2147 (talk) 03:22, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'm done wasting time with this. Disambiguation pages are only for listing things with similar or the same names. No one will come to this page looking for the imaginary friend article, so there is no point in your edit war other than to troll or to make some sort of point about theism at the expense of the encyclopedia. Stop vandalizing this page or you will be blocked. If you feel that this is unfair, you can seek the opinion of another administrator at WP:AN/I. Gamaliel (talk) 03:56, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Disambiguation pages are only for listing things with similar or the same names. No one will come to this page looking for the imaginary friend article - your point is destroyed by the fact that nobody is likely to be looking to find Eric Clapton or Robbie Fowler via their rather oblique nicknames (which are rather more like analogies). Albatross2147 (talk) 23:08, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Start an RfC, show people sources, form a consensus, then we'll talk. Gamaliel (talk) 23:11, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

God in Christianity

[edit]

I added this internal link, God in Christianity, to the "In religion" section because a reader was concerned enough to ask about why the God page was so general and not about the "one true God". It took me several links to get to the G in C article, and I felt it should be easier for readers to find.  .`^) Painediss`cuss (^`.  03:35, 24 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Since there are a number of other 'God in X' pages for various religions I have added these too using the same rationale —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.167.18.50 (talk) 03:50, 8 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
These entries seem to have been deleted; I had just (re-)added them before seeing this discssion. Pol098 (talk) 01:43, 1 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

God

[edit]

Is also a place name in Hungary or Slovakaia (its on the Budapest to Bratislava rail line) but is seen as GÖD - anyone any clues as to whether diacrtics (or umlaut as in ö disallow it - or the a possibilit of a good ref for that? SatuSuro 14:46, 20 October 2009 (UTC) Ok checked - it is the one triviasection that I approve of It is not pronounced like the English word "God." from the article Göd SatuSuro 14:55, 20 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

mos:dab specifically allows diacritics but the absence of an article on the topic would disallow it unless it is referred to in other articles ... also see mos:dab for this. Abtract (talk) 19:00, 20 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
