Talk:Glossary of geography terms (A–M)
Untitled
[edit]I created this page because it was #100 on the Wanted pages, October 12, 2009, retrieved October 2, 2010, The following information is cached, and was last updated 12:55, 12 October 2009. ... 100. Glossary of geography terms (4,202 links)
list.
I created it from 3 US Government sources, which are in the public domain. I used Bruni WebSite - I love wiki - An HTML to Wiki syntax converter then a word processor to Wikifi it. It is an incomplete list, it needs globalization, & the lead needs expansion. But, hey, it's a start.
I encourage folks to use "geography glossary - Google Books Search: Full view›Any time–Dec 31, 1922". These books will all be in the public domain, & some of them, like Conder, Josiah (1834). A dictionary of geography, ancient and modern. London: T. Tegg. OCLC 221006974. Retrieved October 2, 2010. {{cite book}}

(help) have lots of material. Wikilinks from terms to existing articles would be most welcome, too!

Superfluous/irrelevant terms?
[edit]Some of the entries in this article seem irrelevant or unrelated to the article's subject. Specifically, I wonder if terms like "underemployment" and "underpopulation" are appropriate for an article that primarily deals with geographic terminology. Other entries that seem superfluous, irrelevant, or misplaced:
- New England
- Nuclear Family
- Indigo
The list goes on... Infinifold (talk) 18:14, 15 September 2014 (UTC)
I noticed this as well. Another term is "Scots Irish" — Preceding unsigned comment added by 163.47.107.8 (talk) 21:43, 2 November 2015 (UTC)

Flashcards link
[edit]We wanted to learn all these terms in a flashcard format so we built one and made it freely available. Thought it would be helpful for anyone who wanted to learn the content of this glossary in a flashcard format like Anki to also be able to discover that they exist and have access to it from the source.
Was going to suggest it to be added in the external links section like the following but as it is linking to our own site, following the instructions of the Wikipedia guidelines, thought it would be best to leave this in the talk page for other contributors to see if it would be relevant or see if there was a better place/format to put it
