This seems in error - if John were elected in 1227 and the Order had existed since 1209, he can hardly have been the first Minister-General. The first was clearly Francis of Assisi himself and in his lifetime he resigned the office and appointed Peter Catanii in his stead. He died prematurely and Elias was Minister at the time of Francis' death. At best one could argue that John Parenti was the first elected to the office of Minister General.quintavalle (talk) 13:06, 18 October 2011 (UTC)Quintavalle[reply]
