[edit]

I have several problems with the article as it is now:

  1. Who says that he was born in San Louis Oposi? On his own website he says that he was born in Ébano, SLP
  2. How can be the No. 1 Mexican Chessplayer when as of now he is only 3d in the elo-ranking. He was No. 1 in the 90s and beginning of 00s, but not now
  3. You don't present a country in a zonal tournament, that's for individual players
  4. Does someone stay "in the island" instead of "on the island"?
  5. "became a sensation" is more like advertisement than an encyclopaedic article ...

He is Mexico's #1 player as of April 2008, see the FIDE link. Most of your other objections are minor ones that can easily be corrected. I'll do a clean up. Agree it needs sources though.Pawnkingthree (talk) 10:00, 9 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
OK, thank you very much. He was third though in the January FIDE list. --Gereon K. (talk) 12:26, 9 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's done, but I don't know whether the license is any good. Rgds, --Gereon K. (talk) 15:55, 14 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
That's not really a valid license for the photography imho though as a friend pointed out. --Gereon K. (talk) 17:12, 14 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Gilberto born in Ébano, San Luis Potosi, México. (town, state, country). He is not the actual number one chessplayer in México, even that place is changing from time to time. La band-ita (talk) 07:47, 16 July 2008 (UTC)La band'ita La band-ita (talk) 07:47, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That is corrected now. Rgds, --Gereon K. (talk) 10:03, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
