Hi Stefanomarconcini, sorry for bothering you a second time. I wrote the article Istro-Romanians years ago and I'd like to add Pepeu to the article's list of notable Istro-Romanian (fully or partially) people. Do you have access to this source [1]? If so, could you email it to me? I'd be interested in reading this bit mentioning his Istro-Romanian roots. You can send it to me at Special:EmailUser/Super Dromaeosaurus, though you'd need to attach an email to your account; your email address will not be revealed, Wikipedia hides it for you for privacy.
If that's too troublesome for you, could you send here in this talk page the sentence mentioning Pepeu's Istro-Romanian ancestry, as well as the sentence before and the sentence after that one for context? Even if they're in Italian.
no trouble at all. I have a copy as pdf of the book chapter by Mrs. Lippi, who I am sure would be happy to participate in the discussion. I'll find an email for her and send you the pdf (it's in Italian). The chapter has been written by Prof. Pepeu himself where he mentions the Astro-Romanian roots as his family, proudly, used to pass on as a tradition. Unfortunately, my uncle also mentions in the chapter that this tradition is undocumented (for now), but provides a full explanation of why (basically based on the last name, definitely a Romanian origin).
It is possible Mrs. Lippi is interested in researching more, through the University of Florence Press, not sure.
Hi Stefano, as I've told you on an email I've made some changes on the article. I thought it was more proper to discuss them on the space of Wikipedia. Here are diffs with edit summaries explaining my changes [2][3][4]. I wanted to consult two things with you.
Firstly, I am worried that I may have given too much weight to the discussion regarding Pepeu's Istro-Romanian origins relative to the lenght of the article. Do you think I've exceeded myself? I can shorten it if you deem it necessary, no problem.
Secondly, I removed the part regarding the Habsburg culture of the Pepeu. Do they have any kind of blood connection to the Habsburg family? I don't know the history of Austrian Trieste very well, I've imagined that "Habsburg culture" meant some Austrian cultural influence. If this is the case, this would be something assumed and also unnecessary since the number of people who have received influences from cultures other than their native ones is pretty large and this is usually omitted in Wikipedia articles or even in biographical sources about them. If the connection with the Habsburg is stronger please let me know and I will reinstate this info in the article.
By the way, I changed the format of the reference that we discussed. As I've understood the publisher was Edizioni Università di Trieste (EUT), not Firenze University Press. Super Dromaeosaurus (talk) 23:01, 29 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
