Kohlschreiber???

[edit]

I read that Haas decided not to play in Beijing, and Gremelmayr didn't make the German NOC standard... but what about Kohlschreiber? Is a near top-30 ranking not good enough to make the German Olympic team??--Nitsansh (talk) 16:27, 29 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Actually only around the half team of germany is nominated. The third and last nomination will be at july 15th. Then also the tennis-players will be nominated. Marcus Cyron (talk) 16:46, 29 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
How's that Kiefer is allready nominated?
The policy used in qualification pages, and that's not only in tennis, is that sportpeople who qualified by the international federations are included in the list unless there is information that they don't. Is there a reason to take Kohlschreiber off the list???

BTW... the next player in order, who should get in if Gremelmayr doesn't, is another German, Michael Berrer... may I assume that he won't get the NOC approval as well?--Nitsansh (talk) 19:18, 29 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Kiefer isn't nominated. He has reached the norm to get nominated. Nominated are only the persons, who are actually at the list at the de:WP. He's here also only under the athletes Additional qualified athletes through DOSB standards awaiting nomination. But there's not a big secret, that he will be one of the nominated players. You can add Kohlschreiber here to the list. He's also waiting for the nomination. But tennis will be nominated at the third and last part of nomination. Schuttler??

[edit]

How is he nominated when he didn't reach the cut for qualification?--Nitsansh (talk) 19:15, 25 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Schüttler was nominated provisionally. He will be allowed to play in Beijing if he will be among the top 56 players to participate by the start of the Tennis tournament. The top 56 will be based on the world rankings of June 9th 2008. Schüttler was 89th at that time but a significant number of players placed better than him will not participate, including Germans Tommy Haas, Denis Gremelmayr and Michael Berrer. --Phileasson (talk) 00:27, 27 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The last qualifier so far is Jurgen Melzer at #81. Shuettler is the 4th alternate. If you count out 4 players who are not approved by their NOC, he should get in.--Nitsansh (talk) 09:37, 27 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
