Correct spelling of title
[edit]I am rather convinced that the title of this article is misspelt. It should refer to "Anstalt"[1] thus institution, there is no word "ansalt" in the German language. Teeschmid (talk) 09:25, 16 October 2014 (UTC)

Post war
[edit]What happened to the facility after the war? --Lysytalk 01:17, 7 March 2018 (UTC)
The article relies on a single British book and completely misses the fact that the facility was visited by Theodore Von Karman and Hugh Dryden on behalf of U.S. AAF General Hap Arnold:
"The group departed for Europe in April 1945 prepared to assess the current state of international aeronautics. In London, **Kármán and Dryden** donned uniforms bearing the simulated ranks of major general and colonel, respectively. They then traveled to Paris, the jumping-off point of the mission and from there to the German border. They drove to an **aeronautics laboratory near Braunschweig**, in the village of Völkenrode, concealed from public view in a setting of forests and farms and just lately uncovered by U.S. forces. **Dryden and Kármán** interviewed some of the leading German scientists about their guided missile and jet propulsion research and amassed some 1,500 tons of materials relating to swept-wing aerodynamics and highspeed human physiology" p. 8-9

What facility near Braunschweig?
See the Wikipedia article on Braunschweig:
"After the Nazi seizure of power in 1933, several state institutions were placed in Braunschweig, including the **Luftfahrtforschungsanstalt** in Völkenrode, the Hitler Youth Academy for Youth Leadership,[32] and the SS-Junkerschule Braunschweig.[33] With the Reichswerke Hermann Göring in Salzgitter and the Stadt des KdF-Wagens, as well as several factories in the city itself (including Büssing and the Volkswagenwerk Braunschweig), the Braunschweig region became one of the centres of the German arms industry.[34] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Braunschweig
Luftfahrtforschungsanstalt?
Hint "Luft" as in Luftwaffe
Google "Luftfahrtforschungsanstalt" and this very Wikipedia article comes up first:
