Oral sources not acceptable

Footnote 7 describes a tale. Wikipedia's WP:Verifiability policy requires that sources must be published so that readers can find the source, confirm it actually says what the Wikipedia article represents that it says, and find additional information. Since oral stories are ephemeral and cannot be verified, they are not acceptable sources. Jc3s5h (talk) 16:31, 19 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
