Proposed rename
[edit]I propose renaming this article, from "George Grantham (Poco)" to "George Grantham (musician)". Per WP:QUALIFIER, "The disambiguator is usually a noun indicating what the person is noted for being. Some of these are standard, commonly used tags, such as "(musician)" and "(politician)"." Per WP:NCDAB, "The word or phrase in parentheses should be: the generic class (avoiding proper nouns, as much as possible)... If there are several possible choices for disambiguating with a class or context, use the same disambiguating phrase already commonly used for other topics within the same class and context, if any," which would also indicate "(musician)". — Mudwater (Talk) 01:42, 25 November 2011 (UTC)
- Agree. I skipped a cog naming the article. Everything I ran into trying to read about Grantham the musician was identified as "George Grantham/Poco" in one form or another, with perhaps two-dozen misdirects over as many pages to the article on the baseballplayer George Grantham. It seemed non-one was aware that no article on George Grantham the drummer/singer existed. It was an oversight not to have named it George Grantham (musician) when I created it today. Place of birth query
[edit]I think the Mr Grantham's place of birth listed in this article is different from the one in the only listedsource. In the source it says born in Cordell, Oklahoma in the article Wardell, Oklahoma. Is there an error? (Msrasnw (talk) 23:21, 13 December 2011 (UTC))
