Bancroft and slavery

I removed the unreferenced statement that Bancroft took a high moral ground as to the propriety of slavery. In all references I can find, Bancroft did not defend the propriety of slavery; he considered it morally wrong. The assumption that he considered slavery morally right because he was a Democrat is not supported; many Northern Democrats opposed slavery, or at least its expansion. Small point

In place articles, there are only two trailing sections: Notes and Externals (which may be further broken down). Here there are three, which looks okay, but I thought violated "the" rules. Can't seem to find one for bios though. Student7 (talk) 12:04, 4 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
