I have replaced Avakian's birthplace: it is now Armavir, Russian Federation, instead of incorrect Armavir, Armenia. I have interviewed Avakian twince, in 2001 and 2006, and I know for certain that he was born in the town of Armavir located in Southern Russia (currently, Krasnodar Region of Russian Federation.) He certainly is of Armenian ancestry, though, and his parents' native language was Armenian, not Russian.
I have also excluded the reference to the USSR as his birthplace, as there was no such country in 1919 (the USSR has been founded in 1922.) The correct name of the country Avakian was born in was, to date, Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic, or Russian Federation. 85.140.40.130 (talk) 19:29, 10 January 2008 (UTC) CM[reply]
I have changed Avakian's name in original Cyrillic from Георг to the more accurate Геворк (this is how his Armanian first name, Kevork, is correctly rendered into Cyrillics from original Armenian Գևորգ)
