Review of Initial Contribution to Article
[edit]Overall this new article shows a good amount of development and has a lot of potential. The section organization is comprehensive, but the subsections need to be further developed. In addition to this the focus of further development of the article should be focused on addressing the banner at the top of the page. More context needs to be given about gentrification because right now the article operates under the assumption that readers already know what gentrification is. Also expand arguments beyond simply the racial make up of the neighborhoods. I think the neighborhood sections will be the best place to add photos to give readers an understanding of what these neighborhoods look like. This article does a great job of staying having a neutral point of view but also citing sources for each statement. Some statements are backed up by multiple sources making it so there is no question that the information is reliable. I was really impressed by this. GHumphrey97 (talk) 14:50, 30 October 2017 (UTC)
Peer Review
[edit]The article does an excellent job of presenting relevant facts and figures of how the demographics of Chicago neighborhoods have shifted over time. I am impressed by the level of analysis that will be in the Contents of the article and I love how each and every section is an incredibly important in the discussion of gentrification. As I previously suggested, I would maybe add more sections such as an overview of the history of Chicago demographics and economics and how they have been affected by gentrification, or including the political implications and consequences of gentrification. I am also curious to know of any resistance efforts to the gentrification if they exist or if any remediation to lessen the negative effects of gentrification have taken place in Chicago. I know you are planning to add in more information and I am excited to see the direction of the new page! Keep up the good work! Kylaj (talk) 00:20, 31 October 2017 (UTC)Kylaj
