Gear Hobs
[edit]I have worked (in the UK) in the gear manufacturing industry for 10 years and I have never heard what I would call a "hobbing machine" or "hobber" referred to as merely a "hob".
A "hob" as I understand it, is more specifically the cutting tool that is mounted onto the "hobbing machine". Supaming (talk) 16:40, 24 October 2008 (UTC)
