Playing career?
[edit]Can we add anything about what Gold was doing during his 20’s? Can we say anything about his playing career, assuming he had one? CUA 27 (talk) 00:56, 5 October 2017 (UTC)
- CUA 27, I realize that I'm reviving an attempted conversation from some time ago, but the only online source that I could find explicitly mentioning Gold's life before 2001 is a Ruck article that says, "[I]t is rare to find someone in charge of a top-flight [Premeiership] club who did not have a playing career of some sort, apart from [...] Gary Gold."[1] One source already used in the article suggests that he coached below senior level prior to 2001 (quoting Gold as saying "[London Irish] gave me the chance to build my coaching career at senior level.")[2] I haven't been able to find a source for the assertions of Gold's date of birth, hometown, or school attendance—which have been in the article since its creation in 2012—let alone find other background information about his family or personal life. I'm not sure that much can be done about the striking time gap in the article. Any suggestions about where to go from here would be welcome. ebbillings (talk) 23:30, 25 February 2019 (UTC)
